We stayed here for four nights in late September on a photographic safari run by Tusk Photo. We had already spent four nights at Belmond Kwai River lodge. We had driven from one lodge to the next and our welcome was non existent. A group of American who had flown in were given the usual singing welcome and introduced to...

Dear tortoisephobic, Thank you for your review and also for highlighting areas we can improve on. The lodge management team recently resigned and we were in the between stages of placing a new team here, and it's possible that there were a few teething glitches, and we cannot apologize enough that you experienced this. The photo opportunities are excellent at...

We stayed here 2 nights on our self-drive safari and it was really great. Great rooms, great service, great guide (his name was Watch), very good food. We enjoyed our stay very much albeit we did not see the elusive Leopard....

Dear agmendelson, Thank you for your fabulous review, and of Watch couldn't' find the leopard, she must've been hiding very well, he is one of our best trackers and a specialist guide with an excellent knowledge of the Savute area. We do hope you will see the leopard on your next visit to Botswana, we will try our best to...

The game viewing from the game drives was excellent. Desmond was a wonderful guide. The food, the staff and the luxurious accomodation made our visit unforgettable. To sit on your front verandah ( room 4 ) and watch the elephants, the Cape buffalo and even a pride of lions virtually in your front yard was surreal.

This beautifull place on earth, is surrounded by so many wild animals, that you can sit on your veranda and just look whole day. In front there's a water-hole where many elephants come to drink. We've been on many safaris but this was by far the best lodge we've ever been! Everything here is superb! Our 3 highlights: 1. Original safari style with cozy wooden rooms in a magnificent, peaceful location. We felt instantly warm and comfortable here. Savute also had the best food of all 3 Belmond lodges in Botswana. We had three memorable days at the Savute Elephant Lodge. Hospitality from Silingi and Tally was like being welcomed to their family. Wonderful meals, under the stars while observing elephants at the water-hole, were impeccably served in decor that is wholly suggestive of the Botswanan experience.
