I had the privilege to be invited on the Grootbos Horse Trail and Fynbos drive by a close friend. As I total novice rider, I was reassured by Michelle that my horse would be very gentle. Indeed it was, and I was able to enjoy the beauty of the fynbos and views of Walker Bay from a different perspective. Berna...

Dear NapTour It certainly sounds like you had a fun-filled day! Thank you for visiting us. Experiencing the fynbos on horseback is certainly one of our favourite ways of enjoying the area. The slight elevation allows one to really take in all aspects of the flora and it's surroundings including the magnificent floral aroma that fills the air when riding...

We recently took a family trip to South Africa (three teenage kids), and stayed at a number of different accommodations, but none of them compared to Grootbos. We stayed in the Garden Lodge and had plenty of room for five of us. From the moment we arrived, you couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the beauty of the reserve and...

We had dinner there, recommended by Crayfish lodge. It's just beautiful, old colonial really, great service , super food. It's also stupidly cheap, like most eateries in SA. It's well worth a visit if you're that far east, or honestly, make the effort to drive

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in a Forest suite. We arrived in the car park and received a warm welcome from Anecke (apologies if incorrect spelling) who walked us to reception and went through the various activities with us. We were then escorted to our suite which is through a forest of Milkwood trees. The suite itself...

We stayed four nights at the Forest Lodge....lovely suite, excellent food and service, some fascinating activities on the Grootbos estate itself. The views over Walker Bay were sublime. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff including a magical evening reception in the Milkwood Forest and an early evening coastal drive to whale watch, accompanied by a glass of champagne....

We had visited this magical place four years ago and had vowed to come back to celebrate some big birthdays. We were a bit nervous about coming back as we had had such an amazing time last time and didn't want to be disappointed. We weren't. We stayed in one of the Grootbos Forest Lodges for 2 nights in August 2014, and were blown away by the sweeping panoramic views of Walker Bay.
