I really don't know where to start ! This truly is one for the bucket list... I must admit driving in I felt a little disappointment as it is just off the main road not hidden in a Forrest as I imagined, but how wrong I was! Once you arrive you wouldn't even know there was a road anywhere near...

We stayed here for two nights, it was perfect. Even though the weather didn't behave we had a great time. The accommodation was perfect, like a small house. We had a lounge, bedroom, bathroom, even a small kitchen area. Outside there was a nice area with decking, with sun loungers. The views were stunning. The staff were great so friendly,...

Dear Olive Thank you for your positive review. It really goes a long way to motivate our staff. Our whale-watching season was definitely shorter this year than in the past but we know for sure that the whale population is on a steady incline, perhaps they just chose to holiday elsewhere this year. I do hope you have an opportunity...

We stayed in cottage 2 which was very spacious and well set out. There was a separate bedroom, very large bathroom with bath and shower as well as lounge room with kitchenette. There was a large private balcony with reclining chairs and or table to sit at. Although the cottages are close to each other you can't see into the...

Grootbos is a private nature reserve of some 2500 hectares protecting over 750 indigenous plant species, perhaps most notably a myriad of fynbos species and the ancient milkwood trees. Driving along the shores of Walker Bay, you take an inland drive through the gated community of Grootbos’s two main accommodation areas, Garden Lodge and Forest Lodge. They are located some...

This beautiful nature reserve offered a wildflower safari in an open Range Rover. Protea were growing and blooming in abundance all over the reserve. It was a wonderful experience! Our group planted a tree on the reserve. The Reserve has a hotel and a gourmet restaurant. I had seafood curry which was excellent, as well as the best creme brulet...

We stayed in the garden lodge at Grootbos for four nights, a nice place in the middle of a great conservation area. We had booked a two bedroom Luxury Suite and where at first really disappointed when we did get a two bedroom suite that did not at all look like the one on the pictures. One of the bedrooms...

Dear Emma Thank you for your review following your visit here 10 months ago. I'm so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the initial family suite that you stayed in. Those rooms are designed particularly with young families in mind hence the bathroom configuration in the kid's room. I'm glad to hear that we were able to accommodate...

One could see whales in the distance from the verandah. Absolutely breathtaking views. The meal was unbelievable, clearly a world class chef. Friendly staff, 1st class service. Remember to take a jumper as it gets cold with the breeze off the ocean.
