Lovely place and peaceful campsite. Chris and his staff are very helpful and friendly. The picnic site overlooking the Usuthu River onto Mozambique at Red Cliffs, breath-taking. Although we didn't see birds in abundance, Bongani with his birdcall voice and knowledge on our morning Game Drive, made it perfect. We enjoyed our stay at Ndumo immensely.

In March we, 4 adults, visited Ndumo for the 3rd time and were not disappointed. It is, as reported, a quality birding destination and while we didn't see birds in abundance what we saw was quality aided by our very knowledgeable guide eg african broadbill for only the 2nd time in 20 years of birding

The new camp which consists of 7 cottages looks inviting until you find: low maintenance incomplete inventory no bathrooms ablution blocks and kitchen are communal We arrived to a water warning (Not fit for human consumption) and then had no water for 2 days. Three small bottles of water available in the shop. The shop only offers Black Label beer....

We visited Ndumo Game Reserve December 2015, and again for 4 nights December 2016. The staff are wonderful, always friendly and helpful. The camp staff cleaned the campsite daily. The walks excellent, the birding magnificent, but sadly in 1 year we saw an even greater need for maintenance. Thank goodness we do not rely on the ablutions (have our own)...

I spent 3 nights in one of the rest huts and I must say I was disappointed with KZN Wildlife. The camp is in dire need of a maintenance make over. The communal kitchen is in a horrible state with limited cutlery and utensils. What was there was old and broken. Bathrooms were dirty and all locks on cubicles were...

SANParks Honorary Rangers hosted a birding weekend at Ndumo Game Reserve this past weekend. It was out first visit to Ndumo which is famed for its birdlife. There is general game as well and we saw giraffe, impala, nyala, wildebeest & zebra and very special brief sightings of red duiker and suni. Although the reserve is suffering severely from the...

Ndumo is a real paradise for birders and this was the reason for our three night stay there this last week. I am not a passionate birder but go along with my husband, our son and daughter-in-law and our four grandchildren - for me it is such a joy to spend time as a family enjoying all that nature has...

We enjoyed our stay at Ndumo immensely, it’s well worth a visit, especially if you are a birder. The camp site has a lovely setting, and is very peaceful. Some of the scenery in the park is breath-taking, particularly the walk among giant Sycamore figs along Shokwe and the picnic site overlooking the Usuthu river onto Mozambique at Red Cliffs....

Very simple accommodation - no en suite so you have to adventure to the communal bathrooms about 50-100m away at night. Watch out for hippos and buffalo. Take advantage of KZN Wildlife's last camp chef Ginger - he will cook you meals for you as long as you have the ingredients. The camp shop is erratically stocked so bring everything...
