Such a cute place! Comfortable accommodations and friendly people. Quiet and cozy. Make sure you step outside after dark to see all of the neon, and maybe there will even be a fire in the fire pit. 👍🏼

Had the absolute pleasure of staying one night in this little gem on Route 66. My son and I stayed in the 2 room Redman Suite, named after a former, long-time owner. The bed was very comfortable and the claw foot bathtub was charming. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Don't pass up the chance to step back in...

If you are looking to be transported in time, look no further than the Blue Swallow Motel. Super friendly staff. Super friendly doggies.Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The attention to detail and love that has been put into this unique motel is amazing. I highly recommend getting a Rt. 66 soda and sitting outside your room in the patio chairs and...

This is the third renovated historic Route 66 motel that I've stayed in while in Tucumcari. Each is unique, and the Blue Swallow is probably the most unique. My room was small, but very comfortable. There was a flat screen TV, free wifi, and the bed was one of those most comfortable I've slept in at any hotel anywhere. One...

Loved it - loved it - loved it!!!!! AND want to go back again, sometime soon (hopefully during warmer weather). The proprietors were friendly & informative. We selected & reserved our room online and when we arrived, the owner walked us over to our room to show us all about it. The bed was very comfy with the vintage looking...

Take a trip back in time with Kevin and Nancy at the Blue Swallow Motel in Tucumcari NM. Originally opened in 1940 as the "Blue Swallow Court" this is a must stay for anyone with an interest in the "Mother Road," Route 66. It sits right on an original section of Route 66 and it beckons you with its very...

On my first visit in December, I sadly discovered later that my camera had malfunctioned, and all photos were lost. I felt it entirely necessary to re-do the trip, primarily so that I could recapture the photos of this place (and others, of course). For anyone remotely interested in Route 66 folk culture, places as well-preserved as The Blue Swallow...

Take a trip down memory lane to a time where the luxury of time to take in the sights of America, one small town to the next, existed via Route 66. Kevin & Nancy Mueller purchased this unique 12 room motel several years ago and have given those who stay there a peak into this slice of South West Americana...

If there was a way to give Kevin and Nancy more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat! If you are going anywhere near Tucumcari, NM, Blue Swallow Motel is a must stop. My Uncle and I were driving my 1939 Ford Woodie from CA to PA and had planned to stop at a few motels on Route 66....

It was a pleasure to have both of you here! Hope all is well with the Ford. It is indeed a special car with a great history in your family. We hope to see you again the next time your travels bring you to or through New Mexico. Thanks again, Kevin & Nancy

BREAK THE CHAIN! Travel just a short distance away from the I-40 off-ramp to experience the best of the past, with old-fashioned hospitality that is all too rare these days. The Blue Swallow Motel is a classic Motor Court established in 1939 on historic Route 66, and one of few anywhere still operating in its original configuration. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but retain an authentic feel from the heyday of route 66 travel. Premium creature comforts including wonderful mattresses, spa-like towels, and Desert Breeze organic shampoo, soap, and lotion. Most rooms include a garage to make you feel more at home while you are on the road, and these are perfect for parking your motorcycle or classic car for the night. All rooms are non-smoking. One of the best neon displays on Route 66! Come spend a memorable night and experience the home-style hospitality of a bygone era at the Blue Swallow Motel! ... more   less
