The hotel is extremely dated. What has the potential to be a great property is in desperate need for a remodel. It's like a flash back to the sixties. The only thing that's not like the sixties are the prices. Unfortunately we haven't found much better in Taos.

If you want something traditional with a lot of history with that touch of old Taos charm, then this is the place. Adobe/stucco outside and old wood vigas inside. Charlotte, the front desk attendant, was pleasant to work with and provided me a free upgrade as the hotel wasn't full. The older room toward the front was dark and small....

I traveled solo in April, stayed for 5-days and was upgraded on arrival at the front desk for no extra cost. It was the perfect location for me, sort of like "home base" since I traveled every day: N about 1 1/2 miles to Taos center then 1 mile to Taos Pueblo; 35 miles S on the High Road to...

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of hosting you at our beloved Inn. I am especially happy that you found our staff friendly and attentive. Being an 85 year old iconic New Mexico hotel is never easy but always rewarding. We find people like you that embrace our history, revel in our artwork and...

We stayed one night. At $101 it was a bit overpriced. Rooms were clean but a bit musty. Bathroom light lights whole room so use at night wakes your partner. Cable TV was basic. Kind of what you expect in a small town like Taos. Shower had lots of water pressure. A very rustic old time feel

I was somewhat disappointed in this hotel. The room is out dated, dark and had a musty smell. The staff was nice and helpful. There is live entertainment on Friday and Saturdays, local talent which is a nice touch.

Dear Mary Margaret, I am so sorry our beloved Inn did not meet your expectations. We try so hard to ensure that each Sagebrush guest walks out of her feeling our history, experience our 85 years of personality and wants to return. As an historic icon it is difficult to adhere to your nearly century old roots and create a...

The hotel is fine. We had a fireplace room and had to ask for wood and matches. It would have been easier if the room had it to start with. Also, had to ask for towels for the hot tub (which never came). Our toilet did not flush properly. The property sent a security person with the firewood and he...

My husband stayed three days in the lovely, quaint hotel. Our room overlooked the desert, had a working fireplace, microwave and fridge. Included breakfast was five star!!!! Staff was awesome, especially Mark who worked at front desk. Georgia O'Keefe, Marlon Brando and Dennis Hopper stayed here!!! Saturday night band was awesome as well. Dining room at hotel was great and...

My sister and I stayed here one night. After seeing the pictures and information on-line we were excited about this place. We booked the 440 sq. ft. room with one king and one queen bed. The hotel room was old, outdated, and not very pleasant. Floors and bathroom were clean but the couch was so stained we did not want...

Dear Taos Traveler, Thank you for filling out the review about our beloved inn. Your assessment of those courtyard rooms is accurate. The rooms are smaller, a little dark and truly done form original style of when the hotel was built 85 years ago. We do have our wrinkles and sometimes they create guest service and comfort issues. We apologize...

This was a very average motel like place to stay. We were disappointed that it was closer to the centre of Taos and so needed a car to go out to dine. As drink/ driving laws in NMR are very strict that meant we could not even have one drink with dinner. So the next night we got cabs. We...

The hotel has a rich history, which hooked me right away. I could easily visualize stage coaches, horseback cowboys and model T travelers pulling in for a night. I could easily visualize Georgia O'Keefe sorting her paints on one of the inroom desks. I could see travelers cooling themselves in the shady courtyard of grand cottonwoods. The staff carry themselves...

Dear Taos Traveler, It is so nice when our beloved guests "get us". You captured beautifully the essence of our beloved Sagebrush Inn. What more can I say but thank you for the kind words.
