We stayed for three days at the camp and we were so well cared for. The atmosphere is relaxed and all the staff are amazing. The food was delicious and plentiful. The safari drives were fantastic, with a very knowledgeable Ranger and Tracker. We saw so many different animals and were amazed at how close we were able to get...

Really enjoyed our time at this camp during our OAT Ultimate Africa pre-trip. Too bad this destination was not part of the main UA trip rather than Kafue, (which is remote and takes 2 exhausting days to go to and fro). Comfortable tents with full indoor bathrooms and an outside, private soaking tub! No wifi in tents, but available in...

We were actually at the Chapunga tented camp at Thorneybush with an OAT group (watch out for OAT; they waste a lot of time to save money). We saw the big five in three days - and that was a real treat. Our guide and our tracker were well trained and made the experience a good one. They go after...

We stayed for a couple of days and wished it was longer. We had an amazing experience there. The staff were excellent and always exceeded our expectations. We'd just had 4 days in Kruger however the game drives were so much better at getting up close to the animals without unduly disturbing them. The accommodation was very well laid out,...

We stayed here for 3 nights and went on safari every day. The guides were great, the support staff were all incredible, the food was delicious, and the overall experience was a 10! They wake you up at 5:30 for coffee & tea in the morning then take you out on safari for about 3 hours then you go back...

I recently hosted a wedding ceremony at Chapungu. The staff were absolutely amazing. They set up a beautiful area under a huge tree on the riverbed for the wedding ceremony. Whilst the ceremony was taking place 3 giraffe came to partake in the festivities. Wonderful experience for my overseas guests. Chapungu is a very comfortable lodge with amazing staff who...

Our first family safari holiday, designed specifically for us by Alex at www.extraordinary-africa.com ( she is brillant at building a bespoke Africa experience) took us to Chapungu. The lodge is very comfortable, with a family atmosphere and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The games drives were absolutely amazing, Thorny Bush is an incredible reserve and our Ranger Kilmon...

Stayed here for 2.5 days in March 2015 and really loved it. The food (especially the home made muesli) was good and the staff really attentive and helpful. The tents were superb with every luxury on offer including an outdoor bath, which we took advantage of! Dinner was taken in a group, which was OK for two nights but would...

Everything about Chapungu was wonderful - setting, decor, staff, game drives all exceptional. My sixth or seventh safari, and this is the best lodge ever. I couldn't fault it in any way. I can't wait to go back!

This was my first safari and first time to South Africa so I didn't know what to expect. Everything about my Chapungu experience was just perfect and surpassed my every expectation! I was not looking for super deluxe nor did I want a hotel feel with many guests and impersonal treatment. Chapungu delivered it all and then some. I loved...
