We spent a night at Tangala this past weekend for my husband's birthday. From our arrival where we were met by Nina and made to feel so welcome ,to the very informative and exciting game drives that Jaques and Caswell took us on, to the candlelit dinner and surprise birthday cake, to the relaxed atmosphere and comfortable accommodation, everything was...

We stayed at Tangala for two nights after a couple of nights in three other game reserves around Hoedspruit all arranged by the excellent On Track Safaris team. The view from the thatched, shaded terrace overlooked a waterhole and I spent many an hour relaxing and photographing the troupes of animals that came by to drink. The camp has just...

On returning to Tangala for our second visit we were not disappointed with the large amount of game on view. We saw all the Big 5 and could not believe our eyes when at least 15 elephants of all sizes came and drunk from our swimming pool while we sat a few feet away in awe. The food, thanks to...

We were recommended this Lodge within Thornybush Game Reserve by friends who had previously stayed here. This was our first experience of a Safari and appealed particularly to my husband due to it's more traditional style i.e. no electricity and no mega "mod cons". During our stay the guide Suzannah was excellent and so enthusiastic. We spent 3 days here...

From the time we arrived at Tangala the whole experience was incredible. On arrival we were shown to our accommodation which was amazing and unique. High tea was served and then out on a game drive. After three hours out in the bush during which we saw lots of animals due to the skills of Tosha (our guide) and Phillip...

This was a really special place to celebrate my 60 years birthday. Sitting in the bush in an ecological lodge. No electricity, no fences and surrounded by wild animals. Sharing the experience with family and friends. It couldn't be better. Thanks to Tosha and "crew" to make it possible. And thanks for the fantastical gamedrives.

I just spent two nights at Tangala Private Camp, and I can't say enough wonderful things about the lodge staff, the guide/driver and our tracker. The food was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Game viewing was exceptional. What was a concern was the total lack of interest or attention by the host to one of the guests who appeared in distress...

That is most concerning. Thanks for alerting us. You have been privately messaged to find more details. So glad that the rest of the staff looked after you so well.

My husband and I had our first kiss in Kruger Park in 1985 and this was our first trip back. On the advise of a friend we spent this special anniversary at Tangala and it was perfect! Fantastic staff, amazing access to animals day and night, great food, and TOTAL relaxation! We could not have had a better experience. Thank...

Ah - there's only one thing greater than a guest who is having their first taste of the bush, and that's a guest who knows the bush well, loves it and STILL gets excited by all that Tangala is. So glad that we could add to your magical memories. Next time come back with the whole family - and share...

First thing to know: Tangala Private Camp does not have electricity! That said, this is probably one of the best compliments I can do to this lodge. If you are addicted to things like internet, wi-fi, Bluetooth, 4G, spa, fancy restaurants, shops, and all that sort of stuff, for sure you are in the wrong place, my friend! Otherwise, if...

We are so pleased that you visited us again - we find that no matter how many times one visits Tangala, each visit is as special and as unique. Your praise has been passed on to Tosha and the team - we hope to see you again next year!
