After visiting two years ago as just a couple, we came back with our children and the visit was even better. Everything is superb. It's a total escape. He staff at every point is exceptional. The accommodation is luxurious. The rangers who take you on safaris are exceptional. What you might not expect in such a remote location is the...

My 16 year old son and I traveled to SA for our first safari experience over spring break. One of our stops was to Thornybush Waterside Lodge for 3 nights. We had a total of 6 game drives. Our safari experience was top notch as we saw all of the Big 5 on our first game drive. We were so...

We had an amazing time at this lovely safari lodge. Friendly staff, good food and a spacious bungalow that had everythibg we needed. We did a morning and an afternoon game drive with a brilliant ranger and tracker. There were only eight of us in the vehicle and we saw so many animals close up. Rico, our guide was very...

Compared to the Sabi Sands lodges this was lacking. Staff was very friendly but everything else was lacking that special touch. The guide was not trying hard and it felt like he was more interested in getting the best view for himself than making sure his passengers were getting the experience of a lifetime and what they paid for. For...

Judging from all the other consistent feedback on this lodge, it was important that we carried out a full enquiry on the Ranging issue which has been completed. This enquiry involved the Group Operations GM, the Lodge Management, Ranger, Tracker and trainee guide present in the vehicle. These two poor reports on this website relate to the same family of...

We visited the weekend and are local South Africans. Our guide never even tried to have a conversation with us or tried to tell us where we were rushing off too. We got the feeling that he was doing us a big favour and wasting his time as we are not overseas customers and most probably will not be getting...

I am very late in getting this review over, however I would be remiss if I didn't share what an amazing experience this was! The rooms were amazing, the food delicious, the service very personable and the ranger/tracker made this an experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend!

It was our first safari ever and we would return immediately. Dan and John were our super ranger/tracker duo, that made this trip unforgettable. Our waiter Peter was superfriendly as in general all the staff. Setting and rooms are really beautiful and clean. Very good food. Only one small remark on the rain poncho's that are not waterproof at all...

My husband & I spent 3 nights just before Christmas & were pleasantly surprised at the quiet setting of the lodge even though it was very busy. The trackers and guides were wonderful and the number and variety of animals was fabulous. We both really enjoyed the food and the surroundings.

Really nice looking lodge well located for safaris. Unfortunately the rooms had a musty smell which I think is caused by the straw in the roof. Also the shower is outside and if the weather is cold (which it was on our stay) this really isn't suitable. After 5 excellent weeks travelling through many African countries this place was a...

Very comfortable rooms in a peaceful setting. Food is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. You visit this place for game viewing and for us this was exceptional. What made our stay here so memorable was our ranger and guide, Henrico & Stanley, they were fantastic! Very knowledgable, great fun and gave us many amazing encounters with Lions,...
