We stayed at this place with family for 2 nights, the service was excellent and the rooms are very clean and beds were comfortable. People at help desk are so nice and friendly. It was easy to find this place.
Fairly new owner trying to revive a 50/60s motel. The room I was given had no fridge, no microwave, no clock, no shampoo,no phone, no facial tissue. The bed was tired. I couldn't find a TV remote and had to go to the office to have them bring me one. Then it didn't work that well. The breakfast was a joke. Prepackaged items on a she1lf and coffee. There was only one outlet open in the main room ( there was one in the bathroom also) the one outlet was on the opposite side from the table and chair, making it useless for using the computer. The wifi did work and the room was clean.Furniture acceptable but because of lack of outlets pretty unusable. When I checked out I mentioned to the owner about the missing items he said because they were often stolen, I needed to ask and they would have brought them. However I'm not sure where they would have plugged them in.…
Don't let the first impression of this motel stop you from staying here at the Holiday Motel in Lordsburg. At first glance from the street it does appear to be a little bit run down and there is an abandoned indoor swimming pool building and abandoned playground out front. If you can get past these few things on the outside, indoors the rooms are actually quite nice. They appear to have been recently remodeled, are spacious, clean and come complete with a modern flat screen TV, small refrigerator and microwave. The air conditioner worked well keeping the room nice and cool all night. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and in good working order. The bed was comfortable. Check in at the front desk was quick, easy and the office attendant was pleasant. Prices were reasonable too at around $54 total (including tax). My wife and I stayed here for a night in early August 2021 while on vacation in southwestern New Mexico. The night we were there a severe thunderstorm rolled in just after dark with very strong winds and heavy rain. It was good to be inside the safety of the motel instead of outside camping like we had done the previous couple of evenings. I did like the fact that the motel was on the old Highway 80 (Motel Drive) in town and off the busy interstate a bit. It appears to be one of the last surviving motels on the old highway (Motel Drive) before the coming of Interstate 10. The fact that this is a non-chain mom and pop motel, has reasonable room rates, has nice rooms, and is away from the busy interstate would give us reason enough to stay here again the next time we are in Lordsburg.…
Fairly clean rooms, three of five lights in room didn’t work but for a cheap motel, this is what I expect. Checkin was easy and friendly. Good parking. Not far from the highway. Felt like freight trains came thru every hour, clearly heard in room, still slept fine.
Clean and decent furnishing, including a fridge and microwave, which was a nice bonus on a quick stopover on a trip through the Southwest. Comfy bed... Larger flat-screen TV with good channel selection. It was VERY hot and the AC took about five hours to cool the room, but it was fine... The motel is in a dilapidated area of town and some of the buildings belonging to the motel are in total disarray. It actually looks sketchy driving in to, but the rooms are good. As others shared, the motel is right across the street from railroad tracks and it seemed to run every two hours at night and blew the horn every time. It's loud... Would stay again because it's a decent budget hotel.
Not many choices in Lordsburg for motels, I chose this one because it was far from the highway. But little did I know it was across the street from the train tracks with traind at all hours of the day. Also food joints are on the otherside of town. Only downside room is large so it took quite awhile for the room to cool off from the Texas heat. But the plus is rooms are very spacious, large flat screen tv's typical in room amenities too. Too bad no pool, but has older playground & an open bbq pit area to use.
The motel is a little bit out dated but i got a discount online. The good points were the young guy working there was nice and the room was clean. I wouldn’t have stopped here just driving by it looked closed down but that was most of the town.
We was very impressed with our room remodeled nice big rooms , I've stayed in more expensive rooms that wasn't as nice ! I would stay here again ! I did sleep like a baby I heard no trains like I read others complain about !
Now I love places with character. I didn't travel 5500 miles for the same carbon copy destinations you get in the UK. Lordsburg is a town long past its prime, mostly everything is derelict and the old abandoned motels are truly a photographers dream. The Holiday Motel has not escaped history, it once had a swimming pool but it know lies derelict. The rooms though are great, spacious, good shower, good wi-fi , clean and comfortable. This really is a good place for photographers
Very reasonable, but basic. If you ever grew up in a town near the tracks, this will bring back memories. Not a place for Holiday Inners. Clerk was pleasant but room was basic. I would recommend for those on a budget. To the owners: drop your price by $5 and you can beat everybody.
