We had a perfect stay at Elk Mountain Lodge, with hosts who could not have been more hospitable or helpful. Tall Pines cabin is huge and very comfortable, with large windows looking out on to the surrounding pine trees, and a private deck with BBQ, fire pit and hot tub. On our first day, we made the long drive up...

11 of our family gathered for Christmas at Elk Mountain Lodge. We had booked the whole lodge. My wife and I stayed in the Ponderosa and found it very comfortable. While rusitc it was well decorated. The Jacuzzi in the room was wonderful. The hospitality of the owner/manager was great helping us get our luggage to the various lodges -...

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every aspect of this place, from the jacuzzi to the beautiful room to the breakfast burritos in the morning. Rooms have fridge and microwave, silverware, space heater, and everything else you need. Great location for exploring the hot springs, Valles Caldera, and Bandelier National Monument. Terry was super-helpful and friendly, made vegetarian breakfast...

I stayed here just one night, passing through to other New Mexico adventures. The lodge is lovely. I stayed in the Ponderosa. I don't remember the queen bed being described (in addition to the King Bed) on their website. So while it's not exactly two bedrooms there is a large privacy wall (not to ceiling, but good enough) between the...

If you need a weekend getaway that is a nice drive from ABQ, NM this is a sweet spot. Especially in the beautiful fall season you will enjoy the drive through Jemez with the fall colors. The little cabins are very rustic and comfortable and the property is very quiet and relaxing. We brought our two Golden Retrievers who hit...

We stayed in the Ponderosa, and I can't say enough great things about our stay. First of all the owner is a wonderful man! We were greeted by Kodi, a sweet sweet dog. We also took our dog as they are very dog friendly. The cabin was amazing. It was very clean and had all the comforts of home. The...

We went out west to do "The Grand Circle" of national parks. I am so thankful that we chose Elk Mountain Lodge for a night's stay. The owners were wonderful. They were very sweet and caring. Since we were traveling thousands of miles, we were running a little late on our arrival time. We called and the owners were great....

Another enjoyable stay at this great place. Even though there is not kitchen you can make do with the grill and microwave we eat really well. We stop at Smiths in Los Almos on the way in and have steak and lobster and chiles on the grill. It has a side burner so we even had beans after borrowing a...

As you drive in the first thing you notice is the detailed landscaping that blends perfectly with the surrounding forest. More than likely you will find the owner busy at work tending to the beautiful surroundings. The cabins have a rustic appearance so you can have the feeling of being in the woods. It is very quiet and peaceful. If...
