This is one of those places that has an amazing staff and a rich history but not so great otherwise. When I was shown my, "king sweet" it looked like a half of a NYC studio with too much furniture. There was hardly any room to walk around or put my bag down. The room was described as a suite...

For over 100 years, this classic hotel has held a commanding view over Cloudcroft & beyond. The lobby offers a charming gathering spot of comfortable chairs & sofas around a large fireplace, the centerpiece of the Lodge. Immediately adjacent is a nice bar/lounge area and the famous Rebecca's Restaurant, named for the legendary ghost of the hotel. There is also...

First time to real mountains, The Lodge was truly awesome, the restaurant was beautiful, great price for fine dining. The staff was extremely nice, the night attendant at front desk gave me the history and tour of the lodge. I also went to the tower to watch the sun rise over the mountains. This was truly a great experience. Hopefully...

We've been going to the Lodge for many and I'm talking about more than 25 years now. It's always been a warm and welcoming place but this time it was extra special. My husband and I finally decided to tie the knot after a quarter century together and figured ...what better place than the Lodge. With just a couple of...

This is a place I have been visiting since I was a kid. Obviously, if you have seen the photos it looks like some sort of European retreat, which is not very common for NM. It's historic and higher end, so don't expect the cheapest prices. (However, I do remember some promotional packages on their website.) The whole place is...

This large, rustic, railroad era lodge has mostly modernized amenities and was a nice place to stay. At 9000 ft. elevation, the area views are great. Hiking trails are all nearby. The bar is a perfect match to the lodge decor. Gourmet restaurant in the lodge, with excellent food. The King Parlor suite was very nice and exactly as advertised.

The Lodge reminds me of a typical very nice family-run hotel in Europe - built around the end of the 19th century, interesting, attractive, clean and comfortable. I was in room 354 and while there was not a great view from the window the room was very quiet resulting in a good night's sleep for each of the 4 nights...

We stayed at the lodge for a conference. We were in the pavilion but we knew that when we booked. We were told it was in walking distance although it is about 1/4 mile down the hill. The room was clean but felt quite old. Our friends were put in a house down the road about 3/4 mile away. Other...

First things first: Staying at The Lodge is all about its rusticity, charm and history. The location and building itself are unbeatable if you are in the mood for a true mountain getaway. The good: Far from a cookie-cutter hotel, this lodge has lots of corners, odd spaces and levels to keep you guessing. The lobby and great room are...
