Stayed 2 nights, agree with last review, seemed to be the only guests and it all felt a bit weird, staff very friendly but seemed very inexperienced, felt like we were under constant surveillance.maybe staff to guest ratio too high and they did look very bored. Dinner not good, everything came at once despite starter & main options, asked for main...

My wife and I stayed here two night with another couple during our tour of Bhutan. The facility is beautiful. The rooms are large, pine themed with nice bathrooms. It is somewhat out in the country-side on the top of a hill near a nunnery and has a great view of the valley below. The staff was extremely hospitable and...

Stayed in this great hotel at the end of a three day trek and a most welcome stop it was. The hotel room was actually a suite and the staff were very friendly and quite efficient. Food was very tasty as long as you don't go for the Bhutanese pork which seems to be 90% fat. Loved our stay and...

We have a overnight stay in this hotel, its high on the hillside so you get amazing views of the valley and Dzong below. The hotel itself is pretty new and the rooms were clean and modern, we had a small balcony also to relax on before going for breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, there is...

I don't why this is called a resort. It is a very pretty hotel located in the rather rural Punakha district of Bhutan. The hotel is very new. I understand that this is a small hotel in a rural area of a developing nation, but the service was definitely not up to the standard of the other hotels we stayed...

Kunzang Zhing offers an ideal combination of Bhutanese charm, service and surroundings. The suites are beautifully pine-hewn, architecturally simple and very comfortable. Meals offer more traditional local flavors than comparable hotels. Staff serve different roles and we appreciated their sweet graciousness in varied situations. Good laundry services for well-traveled clothes. Great experience - would recommend.

The Kunzang Zhing manages to do the impossible, offering a true 5 star property while retaining tradition Bhutanese charm and hospitality. Punakha Valley has been traditionally spotty for good hotels over the years, with the opening of the Zunzang Zhing that problem has been solved. Highly recommended.

The location was beautiful, with views over the town, but the hotel was not built to make the most of them. Some rooms had balconies, but although we had a big window overlooking the town and river, the bed head was against it, so you could not really look out of it. The food was very good; the presentation was...

Our family enjoyed staying here as we explored the beautiful countryside surrounding Punakha. We travel with three teenagers and staff made us all feel most welcomed. The breakfast and dining was defiantly not five star, but staff was very accommodating and tried hard. We stayed in the cottages and enjoyed beautiful views. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and showers hot....

“Ask for a room with a good view. We were in Room 305 and you could just see the river between the other buildings in the hotel from one window but think you could get a clearer view further down the hill or higher up in the main building. Room 305 had a bit of a terrace to the left of the main door with white cast-iron table and two chairs and an ashtray.”
