Views from the rooms and restaurant are wonderful. The food is also wonderful, lots of choices in their buffet, the rooms are quiet, not really too modern, more simple and fitting to the area. Easy walk across a dusty traffic bridge to access the village. I would stay here again.

With a good property and well maintained one, we were happy the way they treated the guest like us. Since we five couples have our own arrangements for food (snacks) and everything, we were looking for some support from hotel management which they readily provided with a good sitting arrangement in their own Restaurant and also looked after us with warm during the whole stay. Since February being cold, all arrangements were also made to keep the room warm and the stay comfortable.

Located some distance from the main town, this is a am Excel resort in Punaka town. Quick check-in, friendly staff, excellent spacious rooms with free WiFi, electrically heated mattress made our stay extremely comfortable. The menu for both breakfast and dinner was excellent. Definitely recommended.

This hotel/resort has great location on the riverside, away from the town. Well appointed room with a large balcony, overlooking the river was super. Quality of food and service were good. We could stay there again for a longer and quiet holiday.

25th Dec to 27th Dec, we (14 ppl) stay at Khuru Resort, Punakha. Very good hotel in punakha. All rooms are river facing. One can relax in the balcony enjoying cool breeze. Dawa Dema, the Resort Manager is fantastic. She take care of your needs personally. Food is awesome. Not costly. Rooms are very spacious.

Stayed overnight...the room is huge and the air-conditioning is not sufficient to cool the room. No WiFi..and NO TV. That is a bit annoying when you can't do anything but stare at the river flowing in front. Watch out for mosquitoes. And food is very average. Staff is clueless to any question you ask! If you can avoid this place do it. Or if your agent has pre booked...you have no choice but to suffer!

The rooms are big & have a good view overlooking the Mo Chu river. The rooms are located outside the main hotel building which is almost expected in a resort. Almost all the staffs are ladies which is really commendable as they help you with the luggage & parking etc. The staff at the reception is really helpful & listens to your concerns carefully. Sarita Pradhan at the desk was especially very helpful. The amenities in the room are less with just one water bottle & limited toiletries. Mosquitoes are a problem to some extent.
Areas of improvement: Wifi not reachable inside the rooms (most of the time). We had 2 rooms in the hotel & both the bathrooms were smelling horrible all throughout. Room fresheners did not work either. The buffet dinner & breakfast needs to improve by a big margin. The hotel needs to concentrate on food quality, variety & availability. Its a new property, so this is understandable but it can become a very good resort considering the location. Thank You!

Reached this Khuru Resort by noon and it was a hot and long journey from Thimpu. Surprisingly no lunch was available and neither the restaurant in this resort was ready to make something for us to eat, atleast sandwitches, coffee, etc. Our whole group were left high and dry. The travel company, Cox & Kings, we were traveling neither communicated with this hotel for our food, nor they have arranged to get some food from outside. The guide who accompanied us could not even arrange anything. Few of us went out to search for some food from outside...but, no any eating joints or restaurants available in that small town. We managed with some dry snacks we luckily carried with us. Room was decent overlooking a small river on the backside. Big minus point of this hotel is the sewage smell right from the entrance of the hotel to the rooms !! We heard that the drainage system in many of the towns in Bhutan is similarly bad. We felt this even in the capital town Thimpu, when we stayed there. Dinner and next day breakfast was just OK, not that great !!

Punakha is a remotish place, so not many options there. Our stay was booked here and after reading the reviews went with not very high expectations and came back pleasantly surprised. The resort is located on a hillock overlooking the Punakha river and the bridge, very scenic! Staff are very friendly, helpful and hardworking. If possible ask for a room in the lower, front block. The views are better and the climb easier. Rooms are huge and clean. The balcony/sitout is the best place to sit with a cup of coffee and enjoy the views. The breakfast and dinner buffets were great, being Indian we loved the Indian fare being served. The dining area is well laid out and despite there being many groups around things were properly organised, like tables were pre-allocated to avoid any confusion. Appreciate that, as with groups around there can be lots of chaos. WiFi the modern Oxygen was in good supply in the rooms! Two minor issues which can be easily fixed, First the presence of stray dogs (though not harmful) can be unnerving for some esp at nighttime. Secondly the shower system needs to be fixed, the hot-cold knobs are reversed!
All in all a good stay, recommended!
