Stayed one night in the Hotel Mangalemi and it was arguably the best hotel I stayed in during my trip round Albania. Set around a charming courtyard, my room was very comfortable and quiet and the hotel is very well located for many of the sights of Berat. All of the staff I encountered both in the hotel and the...

This popular hotel is spread over two traditional ottoman houses with rooms decorated in Berati style. My partner and I spent 2 nights here in March 2015. PROS • VALUE – We walked into this hotel from the street and were able to secure a last minute double room with private ensuite for 30 euro’s a night including breakfast, although...

The property is located in the heart of Mangalem, the historical part of Berat. The hotel is in an historical building where the owners have kept the traditional elements of the building but still offer modern amenities. This is not a standard European hotel....it has stone walls and wood beams, multiple levels off the main entry level, and open air...

I didn't stay here but we ate in the restaurant and it was nothing short of fantastic. The local Albanian food they serve up is wonderful and there's so much choice. They also serve really good Turkish sahlep (a hot, sweet drink).

Stayed here on a business trip and would love to come back for a private visit. Berat is such a beautiful town and this hotel did not disappoint. Stayed in a lovely room with a tiny private courtyard. For Albanian standards this hotel is quite high end but think charming rather than luxurious. Prices are more than reasonable, I was...

This is a marvellous hotel in the historical quarter of Berat. It is rather unusually spread out over several buildings. Mangelemi 2 was very pleasant with its own courtyard garden. The staff speak English and were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the complimentary water most welcome. Due to its location, the roads around the hotel are steep...

We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Mangelemi. A beautiful traditional building in Berat, with loads of atmosphere, at the bottom of the climb up to the castle, run by a very friendly family who made us feel very welcome. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that we were in a separate building...

I stayed here as part of a group of Brightwater Holidays travellers and the hotel was lovely. You can tell it is family run. Very conveniently placed for the castle and old town. The room was very comfortable and traditionally decorated with lots of wood. There is a beautiful terrace on the first floor where you have your excellent breakfast....

This was my favorite hotel in Albania. I wish I would have stayed at least a couple of nights there. It is in the perfect location in the heart of the Old Town. The decor was charming. We loved our room, which had all of the modern amenities. The room was spotless and quite large. We had a balcony that...
