I always think that when a hotel describes itself as a luxury establishment there is a certain amount of presumptuousness attached.. This is the case with De Kloof. We have visited South Africa six times over the last few years and we know from our experience what luxury really means. Whilst De Kloof has an acceptable ambiance I would suggest...

It is our true passion to be in the hotel industry, being a hotelier is not a profession but a way of living. We strive to offer service in it’s best possible way and make sure that every guest leaves with a smile and fond memories. That is our passion. Therefore it is sad to read these unethical and insulting...

Beautiful room, large bathroom, very well kept grounds ( try to find the crocodile...), good breakfast. The free wine tasting was without charm - which we thought was a little pitty, but again, it was free and a nice touch. Another nice surprise was, that our car had been cleaned in the morning and was spotless when we left. We...

Lovely one night stay at De Kloof luxury resort. After booking through booking.com, received a confirmation email with the bill (payed part in advance) and lots of info on what could be done in and around De kloof. Were upgraded to a larger room in the separate house at the front of the estate. Had a couch, really good bed...

Excellent place with a personal touch. Nice rooms, location and excellent dinner. A must go if you pass or are near to Swellendam The suite and room in the Manor house were excellent. A friendly Dutch couple is running this place and they are very helpful in offering suggestions what to do. The breakfast was just an excellent closure of...

We stayed at De Kloof for the Coronation DC weekend as a team of 12. We were greeted on arrival by warm, friendly staff which included the owner herself. The staff on duty, Keith and Marjolien were super accommodative and friendly. They changed the morning meal times to suit our requirements...... Which meant breakfast was served at 5am! The estate...

Positive - Beautiful location, good bed, lovely evening meal, nice cats... Negative - 1. bathroom unclean (hair clumps on floor, cobwebs everywhere) 2. untrained, unfriendly and sometime bitter staff. Welcome drink poured but not offered, no one to take the luggage to the room (well, in fact the young female receptionist offered but we declined). Adele (who seemed to be...

Thank you very much for your contructive feedback. No expense was spared by the management to make guests fell comfortable and pampered. the free wine-tasting before dinner was taken in the sun on the verandah. The 5-course taster menu was excellent and my partner's...

My wife and I spent a night at De Kloof on our first wedding anniversary. Service was world class and very friendly and warm. We were fortunate to spend the night in the Manor XL Suite which was super luxurious with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was a lovely treat and we felt thoroughly spoilt. I would recommend this place...

This is the place to stay when you want some luxury and be treated as royals! The entrance was very nice and the explanation by the lady at the reception was very helpful and friendly. There was a simple free wine tasting with wines from the area, which was very good. The diner was perfect, 5 taste courses and all...
