We have slept here for one night. Very friendly owners. Good restaurant nearby, on walking distance. Good place to sleep by visiting the garden route. Also a nice pool , and a place to make a fire during the evening.

Stayed 3 nights here as part of our Garden Route tour. Really enjoyed it. Hosts are very knowledgeable about the area. Loads of things to do in area with best for me being De Hoop nature reserve which is just over an hour away. We had Room 7 which overlooks pool and garden but doesn't get people walking past on... We just stayed one night on our way to the Garden Route. The accommodation was clean modern set in a lovely garden with a pool. The owners were very helpful and the breakfast was good . For me the accommodation nice as it was , was rather small for a long stay , but Swellendam is an interesting town and... More

Marula Lodge was a stop over on our journey round the garden route we stayed one night. Sadly it was raining very heavily during our stay so we did not get full use of the outdoor pool and surrounding garden, our room was spacious and clean with large ensuite, free wifi and a plentiful breakfast, the owner was friendly and... Marula Lodge is a very well presented property in beautifully maintained grounds and the room we stayed in and the en-suite bathroom were very comfortable and nicely furnished apart from the pillows which we found uncomfortable although we had good nights' sleep. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and enjoyable and our two nights stay was very pleasant.

Stayed there for one night with a friend on our garden route trip. Arrived very late that day, but that was no problem as one of the owners stayed up to welcome us which we thought was very nice. Room was spacious and very (!) clean. Surroundings really beautiful and well maintained too. Nice pool. Breakfast was small but still... More

My wife and I spent two nights here so that we could have one full day in the Bontebok National Park. We had an end room in a long extension or out-building of their property, so it was perfectly quiet and we got an excellent night's sleep in our large, comfy bed. We had a safe and access to a... We stayed 2 nights at the Marula Lodge Guest house while visiting Swellendam, the third oldest Dutch settlement on the Cape. Our room was spotless, spacious and beautifully decorated. The grounds are lovely, with many flowering trees and pieces of local art sprinkled throughout. The pool was much appreciated after a day of exploration, very refreshing ! Breakfast was substantial... More

We stayed in Marula as a stopover between Oudtshoorn & Hermanus to have some time to do the beautiful passes on our way from Oudtshoorn and coastal line towards Hermanus. Marula lodge is a nice guesthouse with beautiful rooms and they make a good continental & cooked breakfast in the mornings. Also got some fine recommendations for restaurants in Swellendam.
