its a lovely place, just a short walk from the centre of town. its really peaceful , which allows one to really and truly relax , away from the maddening space of the city. And the lady of the house is such a sweetie pie. I locked myself out of the house by mistake and left the key in the...

Friendly greeting at the Lemon Tree. Lovely room - Somer. Free standing bath. Very clean ad comfortable. Great breakfast with plenty of fresh ingredients. Pool area was not as expected bottom part had cover on as overhanging trees were dropping leaves into the pool. No sun loungers and only one table and 2 chairs. No parasols for shade in the...

Arrived late afternoon, received a good welcome from Lady on duty and shown to our rooms, the main surprise was that our bath was in the bedroom, the room was lovely and well equipped with tea and coffee making tray, the place was very quite and restful. We had a good hearty breakfast before travelling on the next day, I...

Nice environment, not too close to the busy streets, a large outdoor pool with a pleasant poolside. The room: Bed is excellent, shower and toilet OK. Which should have guaranteed a nice sleep. But NO! No aircon, just a mobile small fan. When the temperature is more than 28 degrees it is hard to sleep - despite the small, mobile...

Hi Claes T, thank you for your review. We are always happy to hear from our guests. This year is an extraordinary hot year and February was no exception. The fans in the room together with the high ceilings of these old houses are normally more than adequate for a cool night, but these unusually high temperatures for long periods,...

This was a quirky guesthouse - not as you would have pictured before you arrived but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Situation was convenient to the town centre and the recommended restaurant very good. The breakfast was excellent.

I badly needed a break from the city's "twitch and smoke" and came upon this delightful establishment quite by accident after random calls eventually got me in touch with the helpful assistants at the Robertson Tourism Bureau. The minute you drive through the gates of the LemonTree House, your senses are pleasantly stimulated by the greenery and embrace of its...

Nice little Bed & Breakfast. Friendly couple running it. Rooms are ok. Pool decent size. Restaurant close by (2min drive), called 4 cousin, is awesome place; great for kids too. Overall, for us, nice surprise.

Not a very good experience. Room and bathroom extremely small. No place to sit. Had to sit on cement stairs because of the heat. Small fan only comfort in room. Fleas were also visible in room. Sorry for bad comment but have to. Service was good and friendly.

Hi there, I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with some of our facilities. We are looking into your suggestions and appreciate your feedback. Regarding the fleas, maybe you meant flies as we do have some of those around in summer as the huge garden attracts all kinds of buzzers in summer to pollinate the fruit trees and...

Hi stayed in the Lemon Tree House, a B&B in Robertson, Western Cape last night. Great place to stay, fantastic hostess. Can the owner please buy new towels! The current ones are worn out. Carl Rhode . The owner may also want to refresh the bathroom also.

Hi there, thank you so much for your feedback! I am glad you enjoyed your stay and want to apologise for the towel problem. We did procure a whole new towel set for the guest house, but for some reason the old towels were also kept in use. This has now been rectified, thanks to your heads up. Have a...

I travel a lot for business to all different parts of the country and stay in many guest houses, hotels etc, but this is hands down my favourite one. Its my home away from home, and the couple running the place Tannie Mari and Oom Rudi are probably one of the most lovely people you will meet and make sure...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The LemonTree House is a friendly guest house in the heart of the town of Robertson. It is walking distance from town and restaurants. All 5 rooms are en-suite with bath, shower or both, white pure cotton linen and towels as well as swimming towels and tea and coffee making trays. Our swimming pool is a large colonial style pool with salt water. The house is situated in a large garden with huge old trees and lots of shade for the summer. The garden has reading benches & chairs & a heavenly lapa to sit under and relax. In the winter the open fireplaces in the lounge and dining rooms, makes for a very cozy stay. Our Philosophy is that quiet and peaceful surroundings feed your soul as much as good food feeds your body, so whatever you do when you visit us, we want you to leave rested, refreshed and with a big smile on your face. ... more   less

“I love the Summer Room, accessed via the stoep means you don't have to go through the main guest house to get to you room, if you like your independance, this is a great choice - the bath is in the same room with the bed, which is novel and cute (except if you don't want to bathe in front of your room mate!) Has the most comfortable bed too!”
