A beautiful and surprising oasis in the middle of nowhere! Many thanks to Lionel for the attention to detail, personalized service and hospitality. Dinner and breakfast were both superb. The little town certainly had a few pleasant surprises too!

We had an awesome experience. This is a very clean and upmarket guesthouse. We were well received by the owners and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Tim the owner assisted us with lots of local information and was a great host. The breakfast was amazing. I could highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone. Well done Tim and thank you once again!!!!

Spent three nights at Ashbourne in Dec -20 and I’m impressed! What a nice place. Clean, tidy, cozy and welcoming in all aspects. The German couple owning the place really made you feel “at home”. They supported with recommendations, bookings and general advise. The homemade breakfast was to die for. Can recommend it and will surely return as soon as I can. Top class!

My wife and I are have both recently retired and we are fortunate to be able do do quite a bit of travelling. We therefore stay at Guest Houses quite frequently. Ashbourne House is certainly one of the nicest, most elegant and comfortable of Guest Houses in the upmarket category that we have encountered. Tim and Nadine are fantastic hosts and we were immediately made to feel welcome by Tim who offered us a glass of cold wine on arrival. We started chatting and it felt like we had know him for years despite just meeting him ! He had really good suggestions around visiting some of the less commercial wine farms in the area that we had not heard of or visited before. The room was lovely and spacious with all the luxury touches mentioned by previous posts below and breakfast was a real treat. If you want a really good break in a special little town that feels like you have suddenly been transported to France, book into Ashbourne House. Thanks Tim, you made our stay memorable and we will certainly be back !

Beautiful rooms, comfortable, stylish, quality and value for money. Amazing breakfast with home-made muesli and bread, best fruit salad ever - followed by the full cooked option. Perfect location set back from the high street with easy access to all the highlights in Franschhoek - restaurants, shops, wine farms.
