Simply stunning. When you walk into The Last Word from the main street in Franschhoek you feel like you've walked into a haven of tranquility. The rooms are large, the public areas are bright and spacious, the pool area is perfect and the staff could not have been more helpful. All drinks are inclusive and afternoon tea is served with...

Have stayed here many times in both pool suites and superior rooms. Both are excellent and spacious although certain rooms are let down by the lack of privacy. In recent years this boutique hotel has expanded from 6 rooms to 10 and the pool area and first floor patio struggle to cope with the increased number of guests. Would recommend...

We stayed here five years ago - and this trip was even better! Peter was welcoming, charming and extremely helpful in advising us on activities, and Franklin kindly recommended restaurants for our evenings. There are so many fabulous eateries in Franschhoek that, fortunately, the Last Word does not serve dinner! The breakfast menu was delicious and offered a great variety...

If ever a slick and well presented website promised an experience that failed to materialise in reality, it is The Last Word in Franschhoek This place is really a glorified bed-and-breakfast, Well positioned centrally in the High Street but no way delivering anything approaching the last word in luxury as the website suggests. There were so many aspects that we...

We stayed here for 4 days at the end of January 2016. The weather was very hot (40 deg on one day), with blue skies every day. The hotel is well positioned near the centre of the village. You can certainly walk to all the Restaurants that are along the main high street. There is an ice cream shop immediately...

What can I say about this wonderful place that others have not already said? It is truly a welcoming place, with staff who are polite, efficient and knowledgable, rooms that are enormous and decorated in excellent taste, and a location that puts the delights of Franschhoek on your doorstep. Truly it is not like staying at a hotel, but more...

This one of three properties owned by The Last Word, a five star boutique hotel group. On our recent trip to South Africa we stayed at all three. The Franschhoek property is in the heart of the town and easy walking distance from everything. The accommodations are truly first rate with service and staff friendliness to match. The manager, Conrad, was...

This is probably the best boutique hotels I have stayed at with beautiful rooms and great service and ideal for visiting the vineyards surrounding the town. Could find little fault with the rooms and service at this quaint hotel and the all inclusive drinks package is excellent! Parking is limited but sufficient for paying guests and is pretty secure. The...

We have just spent 3 nights in a beautiful, and very comfortable hotel. They provided everything, but if there was anything they didn't have onsite, it seemed it was not a great problem proving it. We were greeted by Conrad, who was very welcoming and helpful, as were all the members of staff that we met. There were complimentary drinks...

As always this place is excellent. A great place to meet new people and swap vineyard stories. Have stayed here 4/5 times and each time it has been excellent. A real gem in a beautiful town. It doesn't serve dinner but you are spoils for choice of restaurants within 10 min walking distance.

Thank Christopher M
