This BnB has been lovingly established, with beautiful spacious, comfortable rooms overlooking a gorgeous courtyard with views of the surrounding mountains. Yves looked after us very well, especially considering that one of us was ill during our stay. Highly recommended for a gorgeous spot in the heart of Franschoek.

Quaint and inviting. Yves was a wonderful host and the accommodation was excellent. Well situated in town with a great breakfast. The guesthouse has wifi throughout and a wide variety of TV channels. The upstairs loft was a fantastic room with fireplace, however the twin room for the children near the breakfast room was perhaps too close to everyone in... More

We arrived there on Friday, everything was already prepared and waiting for our arrival. The owner made our staying very special. We enjoyed the rooms and the fireplace there. We enjoyed the garden and the tranquillity that the place offers. We enjoyed the fact that it us situated 2minutes walk from the centre of the city so we walked. The... More

Had a fantastic stay here. The staff are lovely and welcoming and the breakfast was great. It looks exactly as it appears in the pictures so I would say look closely - I didn't pick up on the fact that there was no door between the bedroom and bathroom in our room which is not ideal! Couldn't fault it in... More

Very nice rooms with a beautiful old style decoration. Beautiful garden and pool in the middle, where you can have breakfast if the weather is nice. Friendly staff. Short walk to the center and some fine restaurants.

The rooms where clean and well presented (a few hooks to hang our towels on in the bathroom would have been welcomed) There is a beautiful view of the mountains and the gardens are lovely. It is very conveniently situated and we walked to dinner every night. The breakfasts were very unimaginative and rudimentary and an upgrade on the bed... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The story of 'De Alchemist'. Cafe in Ghent, Belgium - Guesthouse in Franschhoek, South Africa During the Spring of 2013, Yves & Martine decided to start a new adventure by opening a nice little cafe in the old medieval town of Ghent, Belgium. On the wave of happiness and adventure, Yves and Martine took things one step further. During a short holiday in South Africa, they decided to buy a let down bed & breakfast and started another big adventure.
