We prebooked Spekboom after our first choice , Addo Rest camp was full. We spent one night at the rest camp and moved on the next day to Spekboom. Spekboom hasa only 5 tents.in an area not much bigger than a Football penalty area. Each tent is quite separate and surrounded by Bush. The toilet block and kitchen is reach... More

We booked to stay here for a wedding anniversary. The tented camp is a basic facility with 2 single beds,a solar light and braai/barbecue.You have to bring your own firewood, matches and torch. The room was clean and everything was in good order when we arrived. There are extra blankets for cold nights. We sat outside under the stars for dinner and made frequent trips... We stayed two night at spekboom and it was the highlight of an amazing trip to South Africa. Perfect for those who like to get back to nature and away from the madding crowds. We loved cooking on our braai and listening to the sounds of elephants roaring and hyenas shrieking in the night.

We spent a night at the Spekboom tented camp - it was a wonderful experience being in a basic tented camp in the 'bush' - very simple yet adequate. The tents are comfortable and have the basics to make your stay a relaxed one, as long as you are prepared for camping and arrive with all your necessary 'stuff'. The... More

My first visit to the Addo Elephant park was arranged on short notice and I spent one night at Spekboom and one night in Matyholweni camp in the south of the park. Tented accommodation allows the feel of camping while not having to set up a tent by oneself. At around R800 for the night it represented good value. Beds... More

Such a great place, the tents are pretty luxury for 'camping' they have nice beds with fresh linen, there are hot showers a short stroll away, its all very clean, and there is a fridge to keep things cold. The highlight of course is the location. The tents are right next to a watering hole (there is an electric fence... More

What a fabulous experience started off a 2 week break with a few days in Addo camping in Spekboom What a treat As long as you accept the rough of the wild you will love this place Only 5 tents hidden in a hide, over 10km from the nearest people Absolutely loved it Remember to pack plenty of braai-wood, food... Lets get the elephant out of the room by saying when we arrived we found the cleaner/ranger sleeping in our bed...... Hard to come back from that. Camp was neat and tidy thou. Right next to a watering hole. Saw elephants and heard a lion in the morning! Customer service is not great in Addo but that can be expected... More

We stayed at the Spekboom tented camp. The tent was nicely hidden in the bush and very private. The barbecue outside had legs and it was great to stand and not struggle bending down to the ground to barbecue. A very nice surprise was flush toilets. The shower and dishwashing area had both hot and cold water. There was also... More

We stayed one night, we loved the camp with everything you need and very confortable, the lookout at sunset with baby elephant and curious cute mice was a must! We headed out at 5:30 as soon as the doors opened and got to see a caracal fighting with jackals! Great experience hearing the animals, highly recommended
