Checked in late with night shift staff and encountered multiple issues: 1. WiFi did not work. 2. Front desk phone did not work (so you walk back and forth to troubleshoot issues). 3. Xfinity TV channels subscription issue so most channels are not available. 4. Found footprint and dead bugs on pullout sofa-bed mattress. I had better experience in other Hampton hotels.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback and I am sorry if we fell short of your expectations during your stay. Additionally, we have addressed this straight away to our staff and escalated it to the management for immediate action; to ensure that this incident is not repeated again. Upkeep and cleanliness are very important to us, and we want our guests to have a top-notch stay with us. Our room service team is generally very attentive to guests’ needs and we prepare the room thoroughly for upcoming guests. This is very unlike us. Had we known of this, we would have gladly taken care of this right away. Nevertheless, we will definitely communicate your feedback to our housekeeping team. Furthermore, this was truly not our level of service and I will be discussing this with my staff for the future. We always aim to deliver a great experience and make it a point to be known for our customer service; this situation caught us off guard. We are confident that we will be able to provide you the stay and experience you truly deserve if you give us another opportunity to do so in the future.

Hotel's Favourite
We are writing to especially commend the front desk staff member named Dean! He was incredibly kind, gracious and helpful. The hotel was perfect for us - clean and airy with a nice outdoor pool. But again, Dean should get a raise!

We recently stayed at Princeton Hampton Inn for Reunions and Graduation and enjoyed it. The hotel is on Route 1 with many others and is a short drive to the University. The rooms are modern, spacious and clean. The quality of the breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and always helpful. If you have a car, this is a very good choice. For Reunions it also worked well as there are shuttles running to and from the University. We have stayed at many of the Princeton hotels and rate Hampton Inn as one of the best.

Copied from my review on Google. The hotel replied to that review saying they attempted to get in touch with me (I have 1 missed call and no message was left) and that they took measures to make sure this doesn't happen again but it is unclear what those measures are. I ordered 9 rooms in the beginning of February. We are from out of town and my daughter was getting married in Princeton and I was arranging rooms for my family. It seemed ideal because they advertised a free shuttle that would take you anywhere in Princeton for no cost - we planned to use this to get back and forth to the wedding. The shuttle is even mentioned here on Tripadvisor. Two weeks before the wedding I called to ask how we access it and was told that they no longer offer that, although it was listed as an amenity all over their website. It was later removed from the site. I was told I could pay to use the shuttle. That was frustrating. One positive note - I had to cancel one of the rooms when a family member got covid - they graciously removed the room and did not charge me. Of the 8 rooms I reserved, 2 were supposed to have one King size bed, 6 were supposed to have two queen size beds in each. However, when my family arrived, they were told that they were out of queen rooms but the king rooms had pullout queen couches - we ended up with 2 of the double queen rooms and 6 king rooms. In my family we have young children, older people and rooms had mixed family members who didn't want to share a bed. We have all slept on a sofa bed...not comfortable at all. I was never notified of the room changes and when my sister questioned the staff about this, the response was not polite or understanding. When I called to complain, the manager was not in but the person I spoke to was going to check on what happened. I also mentioned the shuttle issue and was told they DID have a shuttle and they would get back to me. It looks like I missed 1 call from them but no message was left. Overall it was a disappointing and frustrating experience.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback and I am sorry if we fell short of your expectations during your stay. Additionally, we have addressed this straight away to our staff for immediate action; to ensure that this incident is not repeated again. Although, the on-site shuttle is a reservation based amenity through our sales department, it is understandable where your frustration is coming from. We have tried to reach out to you regarding your stay but have been unsuccessful. Please know that your voice is important to us and that we are working hard to address these issues and improve upon the guest experience. Please feel free to reach out to us with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance and we are confident that we will be able to provide you the stay and experience you truly deserve.

I stayed here for a couple of days with my parents as we visited some family cemeteries in central New Jersey. Admittedly, this hotel was sort of out of the way for us, but it was one of the only hotels we could find that did not have outrageous room rates over Memorial Day weekend. The staff were very pleasant and polite, and our room was clean and modern. I liked the use of bright colors in the wall art. One night, there was a loud family or group in the room above ours, and I called the front desk about it. They dealt with it quickly and we went to sleep. I slept on the pullout couch, which was comfortable, and the provided blanket was clean. Thanks to the staff for a pleasant stay!

We always stay here when visiting our Son because of the great service and cleanliness of the property. Their Breakfast is one of my favorite things about Hampton Inn, staff kerp items stocked with a wide variety of items. They also offer a Shuttle service for Guests attending Princeton University Reunion activities.

Hampton Inn Princeton was chosen for a brief 2-day getaway during my Spring Break. It had a great deal that stood out to me as well. What a beautiful and clean hotel, and a great hotel room (1-king bed and sofa). The bed was comfortable, and to our surprise the room had a refrigerator. Complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations! Hotel is also nearby to downtown Princeton shops and restaurants... less than 10 minutes away! Shoutout to the staff was incredibly friendly as well...thank you! I would come back to stay here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to travel to Princeton area overnight!

Doing so much travel this year and finding it difficult to see updated reviews leading to disaster hotels. This was a great surprise. Pros- friendly staff, crisp and clean room, smart breakfast and cleanly presented. Sanitizing wipe for remote control a nice touch. I recommend and would stay again.

I had need of a hotel room for several weeks at the last minute for an emergency family matter. After my first hotel fell through, Hampton Inn Princeton to the rescue! The staff were helpful, friendly, created a safe environment and checked on a few things when there were issues (at one point a neighboring guest decided to smoke in their room!). The rooms were newly renovated and lovely to stay in. Stellar call outs to: - Julianna who made delicious hot breakfasts ~5 mornings per week. She wrote clear notes about what she had made for us to eat each morning so folks with food allergies could be aware. She was very kind and a delight to speak with. - Tio who I would see cleaning the floors every morning, a particularly challenging job with all the salt and mud after a blizzard but really important to keep everyone safe with good footing on clean floors. Tio always had a smile and a kind word. This was a really difficult time for my family but the staff at the Hampton Inn gave me a comfortable and pleasant oasis to rest and recharge for each day so I could do my best to help them. Thank you! Your smiles, kind words, and efforts made a positive difference in the lives of those around you.

Great spot close to restaurants and shopping. Needs work on cleanliness (first room smelled of smoke and had dirty bathrooms walls) but second room was a little better. The bed frames though sounded like pounding on a wall when you sat on them and there was also a rock placed to keep a door open so that was concerning. Otherwise, everyone was very nice and the breakfast was warm with a nice selection.
