We stayed 3 nights during 4th of July week 2024. Very accomodating staff. The room was one of, if not THE cleanest that I've stayed in at Seaside. And, this was my 8th motel. Small room but I care more about cleanliness. Pool area clean. Great location.

Mike runs a very nice motel. Clean, close to the beach, would definitely recommend. Mike keeps the motel orderly and no bs goes on here. It's definitely nice to see that. Mike came and helped us with our TV issue as soon as we asked him too. The rates are reasonable for the time of year and location.

Clean, basic lodging. Felt safe and comfortable. No complaints!
Owner seemed caring and kind and at the ready to address any concerns that might arise.
It was very reasonably priced compared to other places we saw listed.
We would stay here again when in the area.

The owner is incredibly rude and unhelpful, and the customer service is terrible. They falsely charged my card even though no damage was done and no rules were broken. Don’t stay here they’re a scam. I cannot believe the amount of disrespect and lack of accommodation.

Harassing phone call
I recently made a reservation for Bay Breeze Motel, 230 Summer Ave, Seaside Heights NJ 08751 Phone Number (732) 830-4555 on Priceline.com. Prior to making this reservation I called a hotel directly and asked questions as to the location, and some other small details. I also asked for a quote for 2 adults and two children age 12. The man gave me a quote of $119.00. Since I didn't have the comfort level and knowledge of whom is the person representing a motel, I asked if I can make a reservation on-line. The man replied yes but to call him for reservation (man had a very heavy accent). I proceeded to go on line and booked the hotel through Priceline.com. Next day I had a message from "Mike" representing the motel requesting that I call back. I called back and "Mike" answered. He was angry and in harassing voice stated "Why did I make my reservation on line ten minutes after he told me to call him back" proceeding in angry voice to tell me that now I will pay more since I didn't call him and he will charge me for two kids extra $35.00 a person a day. My blood pressure raised through the roof because he was so angry and kept repeating that he couldn't believe I made reservations on line and not call him. I was very distort and in disbelief. I asked if he was the owner and he replied: "I am the owner, the manager and everything else". I never had something like that happen to me in 51 years. What type of a business is this motel? At this point I am not even sure if my child (it will be only one child) will be safe in that environment. I attempted to cancel my reservation through priceline (that transferred me to booking.com) but "Mike" would not allow it unless I pay a $100.00 penalty. In addition why would someone be so angry that I made reservation on-line since they are getting business anyway, unless they are trying to generate cash business that they might not want to report. Regardless, no consumer should be harassed in this way and no business should be allowed to harass their consumers like this. We are proceeding cautiously with our reservation since we have no other choice, but no business should be allowed to harass and treat their consumers that way. They are not registered with NJ BBB??? I will follow this post after our stay.

Not understanding motel policy in your part does not mean we are harassing. We do take all review seriously and take necessary action to improve. We provide clean, well-appointed deluxe rooms with comfortable modern facilities to our guests. As per our motel policy, only registered guests are allowed to stay, and no visitors are allowed, Up to two children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing beds. Any additional older children or adults are charged USD 35 per person per night when using existing beds.This policy is posted on all website . Here is "Cancellation Policy ,This policy defines how to handle cancellations Please note, if canceled, modified or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged." Not understanding motel policy in your part does not mean we are harassing. We just wanted you to explain this policy so that you can understand and make reservation as per your need. We always like to make our guest's stay comfortable and enjoyable.

This was my first trip to the Jersey Shore, hard as it seems but being a Long Islander we have our own beaches. However, I was heading down to the Seaside Off Road and Truck show originally scheduled for October 3rd. The show suggested to motels to stay at with special "show" pricing but after looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor, it seemed the Bay Breeze rated higher than those places. I made my reservation through Booking.com and under the circumstances that the show was postponed from Oct 3rd to the 10th because of weather, it looked like I might loose my money but Mike was kind enough to accomodate my change in arrival date with just an increase of $20 in the nightly rate because of the Columbus Day weekend.
A little about me: Sure, when the rates are good I enjoy staying at a Hilton but I do just fine at a Marriot Courtyard or Hampton Inn. I don't need fancy, but I need clean. Bay Breeze is rated #5 out of 41 places in Seaside.... I can't imagine what #6 thru 41 look like. I'm really perplexed here because Mike was one of the most polite gentlemen I have ever met and he kept asking if everything was OK, but I didn't have the heart to tell him I felt like I was staying at a 3-hour short stay place on Queens Blvd in NYC or a welfare motel. I'm also perplexed at all the awards the place has won and all of the excellent reviews.
Upon arriving on Friday around 6PM of the "Big Holiday Weekend" I noticed there was only one other car and a motorcycle in the parking lot. We went to the office and checked in...again, Mike was one of the most friendly guys I ever met and gave us great suggestions on where to get dinner and breakfast the next morning.
We went up to the room and the first think I noticed was the window was open airing out the place...never a good sign. Then I open the door and I see two queen beds with the usual motel looking bed spreads, sheets, and no blanket (more on that later.) The furniture was whicker but had glass tops on them, which was good because I was able to wipe them down with lysol wipes before putting our stuff down. The walls of the room were dingy and needed to be painted, the white trim wasn't white anymore and there was no luggage rack. There was no closet but there was a slotes bar with 2 hangers on it...that looked like they were fished out of the Gowanus Canal. The refridgerator and microwave took up haf of the space in this pseudo closet.
The bathroom....while it appeared clean, the fixtures were old and tired...having my lysol wipes with me i cleaned the place myself but I told my son under no circumstances was he taking a bath. The tile floor had ground in dirt.in it...I don't know if a couple of cups of bleach would have helped.
Now the beds...two queen beds...low to the ground....I took the bed spreads off and put them in the corner of the room. I inspected the sheets and pillows for hairs and they came up clean but then I looked in the pillow case of my flimsy pillow and found blood stains. At that point, around 9PM I called my wife back in NY and told her my son and I were going to check out and come home....she called Mike on the phone and he told her to send me down to get another pillow.
When I went downstairs, Mike took me to the laundry room and gave me a clean pillow. He put the soiled pillow on the side and said he would show it to the housekeeper. He appoligized numerous times and then asked if I would like two clean blankets since it might be chilly. He took them off a shelf and then I asked: "Does haouse keeping put clean bedspreads on the bed for each guest stay?" He told me they get washed once a week....just think about that for a while.
Oh yeah, as others pointed out the matress are covered in plastic that crinkles every time you move but at least you don't have to worry about bed bugs.
So that's my honest review of what I thought of the place, which as I stated before...leaves me perplexed as to unerstanding how this places rates 5 out of 41. Yes, Mike was pleasent and seems concerned for the comfort of his guests but something is not adding up based on the condition of the motel. I just don't get it.

The owner called the cops on us... Never in my life have I been so disrespected. The officer laughed because we were clearly doing nothing inappropriate besides talking. There wasn't even MUSIC! It was 9:50pm on a Friday. Additionally, the best was made of store garbage bags and cardboard, the place was the size of a shoe box and over priced. In addition it was dirty and smelled like chlorine. Never again.

Even after multiple reminder about excessive noise you ignoring us.We have to called COPS around 10.30 pm because we received complain about excessive noise from other guest staying near your room. By the way thank you for apologizing in person as soon as cops left. We make every attempt to make our Guest's stay comfortable and enjoyable.

My husband and I booked this motel for 5 nights but ended up leaving after 4 nights because it became to unbearable to continue sleeping there. The room was so dirty. We walked in to seeing sand all over the bed stands, sheets had hair all over them, even under the sheets were full of hair, stains on the bedding, fridge wasn't cleaned at all, on the microwave, the top of fridge and all surfaces were covered in whatever the last occupant left behind. The sink would fill up seconds after turning it on. The shower curtain was filthy along the bottom and different spots throughout the curtain. The top of the toilet seat had something smeared on it. All the doors were disgustingly covered and looked to be never cleaned. The wash cloths were on the top of the toilet sitting on dust and hair. The towels were all wrinkled and looked used with Stains and hair of them as well as the hand towels the housekeeper brought us. Everything had hair!!! I let the owner know and he dd send up the housekeeper but like I said she would just bring more dirty towels up to our room. When checking out he wouldn't refund the last day of our stay and said he tried to resolve our issues by sending the housekeeper everyday. He never once actually listened and tried to improve his establishment. The room we stayed in was not renovated, not modern, not clean at all, and it wasn't delux as his website states. It was a total waste of money. We wore our shoes at all times even sandals in the shower. The pool was also not clean the walls above the water were all brown colored def could have used a good scrub I would Never consider staying there even if I was paid to. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from here as u can. I've stayed many places and this is by far the worst place ever. I've never checked out early from any room especially at the beach. I couldn't even put my back against the headboard. Everything was dirty!!!

The Bay Breeze Motel has been beautifully remodeled and is so 'very' clean. New owners!! Hip-hip hurray. The rooms are non-smoking, but, the owners will provide ashtrays for veranda smoking. My search for a summertime retreat ended when I pulled up to the Bay Breeze Motel and was given a tour on the spot. I say book it now. I did. See you at the pool.

This place is ridiculous they do not allow you to have anyone in your room at all the manager watches the video from the night prior and if you have anyone in your room he kicks you out. It is run like a prison....Do not go there...go see Ben from the Belmont he's awesome and takes care of you... in the park stay at the desert palm nice people... rooms and view...

We do take all review seriously and take necessary action to improve. We provide clean, well-appointed deluxe rooms with comfortable modern facilities to our guests. As per our motel policy, only registered guests are allowed to stay, and no visitors are allowed, which we have made aware to you during the registration process. This policy is posted in our registration office and registration form where guests are asked to sign. In your case, the guest has tried to bring unregistered people in their room numerous times, despite our request not to bring any unregistered guest in our property for other guest's safety and enjoyable stay. You have sneaked in unregistered guests in the room, which is a serious violation of the policy. We had no choice but to call cops and they also agreed with us. By the way thank you for paying for your EXTRA GUEST YOU HAVE SNEAKED IN. We always like to make our guest's stay comfortable and enjoyable.
