From the moment we entered the hotel we were treated greatly. The staff could not have been more accommodating - and that is the entire staff including the bartender, restaurant wait team, front desk managers, etc. We stayed in room 302 which while it seemed to be a little small actually ended up fine. I worked from the desk most days and had no issues. Breakfast was wonderful - simple - healthy - very good. I enjoyed it each morning on the front porch. We had cocktails prior to dinner and drinks were exceptional. We ate at the restaurant twice and both times the food was phenomenal.
Beautiful boutique restaurant in the heart of Princeton New Jersey. The food was delicious. We went there for our anniversary. It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was full. We really liked the atmosphere. They have valet parking which was great. We split the Tomahawk steak, which is a bone in ribeye. I had their smoky old fashioned and it was so good. One of the best I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a fine dining experience.
I called months ahead to make a reservation as part of a wedding block. After some confusion over the family's name, the reservation was made. This is a lovely boutique hotel on a very busy street (not a "lane") just off the main street of Princeton and easily walkable to town and the university campus. I am a single and was in room 208 which was very nice for one person, but would have been tight for two. The bed was comfortable and a variety of pillows was available. The bathroom was a generous size and although there was no counter space, there were two drawers and a shelf below the sink for toiletries. The shower was wonderful as was the heated floor. There was a bar fridge in the room, so I took bottles out to store the snack food I had brought. I learned the second night that there were blackout shades behind the thin shades that were visible. I was glad I had my earplugs because I could hear the small children in the room next door before I put them in to go to sleep. It was frustrating that, given the room, rate and 5-star rating, the TV only got one station (despite the fact that someone came in to "fix" it) and if there was wifi, it was so weak I couldn't download a book on my kindle and my phone stayed on LTE the whole time. Breakfast was a cold Continental buffet, but I overheard that you could request a hot asparagus fritata. It was lovely eating breakfast at a table on the lawn, despite the noise from the street. The valets were quick and amazing at how many cars they could park in the driveway. I checked out at 11:00 while there was a private brunch going on in the dining room and schlepped my own bags down the stairs (no elevator) before a nice young man was available to help me. He put the bags in my car.…
Beautiful room and amazing dinner! PROS- *Gourmet dining and always consistent. *Beautifully decorated rooms with high quality bed and bath linens. *Walkable to all things downtown Princeton *Room amenities include snacks, variety of drinks and toiletries. *Bed was super comfortable CONS *Parking is right and valet service is necessary on weekends *No elevator *No full breakfast, however they do have a light continental breakfast which includes a variety of freshly baked croissants, cereal, yogurt, and coffee/tea.
We stayed here for one night during our recent trip back to NJ & NY. This hotel is very close to Princeton University and a variety of shops & restaurants. The location is excellent if you want to be near it all. Our room was rather small but definitely got the job done. The size of the room (and of the hotel, which is small) really gives it a European feel, which is a good thing! I wouldn't categorize this as a 5-star property, but I do think they have 5-star elements such as higher-end bath products (Molton Brown) and a well-stocked minibar (with typical 5-star prices!). Breakfast was so simple, but really great! I LOVED my almond croissant! This hotel is run by Ascend, which is part of Choice Hotels. Choice Hotels is probably my least favorite hotel brand, so I wasn't expecting much, but my expectations were surpassed. We definitely had a pleasant stay and would gladly stay again if we're back in the area.…
We visited the Princeton campus and stayed at the Peacock Inn. The staff was ready to help at any moment and made us feel at home. The Inn is conveniently located within walking distance to campus and town center. We had a large family sized room with a huge shower with many jets.
Room was very comfortable and all of the staff here were very helpful and friendly. The complimentary continental breakfast was perfect. Very fresh delicious berries with yogurt and granola and French pressed coffee. Only problem was graduation was the fourth day of my stay so the rates for the inn tripled for the the last night so it became unaffordable to stay here for the duration of my stay in town. Would have been nice if that were not so.
This was our first time in Princeton and you can't beat the location to the University and Palmer Square area. Only steps away. The rooms are well appointed and the staff was friendly and attentive. They took great care of us. Nice feel and intimacy of a B&B combined with high-end contemporary hotel amenities and rooms. Due to Covid, instead of their renowned breakfast, we were served a continental style breakfast to our room which was still excellent. Loved the comfortable bed, bed linens and Frette robes/slippers. Solid water pressure in the showers too. The Molton Brown amenities would've been fine until I realized only too late that they put shower gel in the shampoo dispenser. Everyone wore masks and I felt comfortable regarding the overall cleanliness. Would love to come back when everything is normal and get another level from this beautiful place.…
We had a wonderful stay here. This place is the epitome of attention to detail. The hotel grounds are beautiful, staff is so accommodating, and we had the most amazing afternoon high tea service with delectable scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts that were exquisite both in taste and presentation. The outdoor dining space was lovely. Luxurious rooms and bedding. Excellent service.
Everyone from the Valet to the Housekeeping was a pleasure. There is a nice laid back feel to this well decorated and comfy B and B style hotel. Nicely located within town, and extremely charming. Bartender, Server, Front desk and Restaurant Manager all went above and beyond to make our stay one we will not soon forget. Wondering if the kitchen had an off night because it did not line up with the rest of the top notch experience, so looking forward to giving it another try.
