Stay at Forrestal instead. The restaurant and pool were closed, and the rooms were very outdated. The whole place is a little musty. It's not the Marriott Courtyard quality I'm used to. Tostly empty for a reason.

Very tired hotel that is in need of a renovation or update. With so many other options I would not stay here again. Why? The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The sheets and blankets are thin and threadbare. The bathroom shower had dark marks that were either mildew or dirt. The shower area was also super dark. The lampshade liners were torn and the headboards scratched and worn. It was not up to even a Courtyard by Marriott level at all. The only positive was the super friendly and helpful people working at the check in area.

Staff at front desk- very friendly. Rooms- extremely outdated. The TV sat lower than the bed? Furniture all scratched up and damaged. Very strange layout… Bathroom needs major overhaul. Hope to return, once rooms and bathrooms have been updated.

I've stayed in Courtyard hotels across the country and they are generally a fairly solid choice. This one was OK, but I've definitely seen better. The lobby seemed updated, but the guest rooms were a little past their prime. The bed was not particularly comfortable and the shower seemed to be falling out of the wall. One strength of this hotel was the staff - very friendly and service oriented. Anyone who has read my hotel reviews know that hotel gyms are a big deal to me. this one was substandard on many levels. While they had decent cardio equipment, it was clear that it has not been well maintained. Their were no mats for floor work, and the floor surface was not comfortable for that type of activity. The towels were not well stocked on either day I used the gym. The dumbbell selection was weird - there were a couple that were below 10 pounds, which were too gross to touch. From there, it skipped up to 25s and 40s and that's it. This is an area I travel to fairly frequently, so I think I'll be continuing my search for the best spot to stay.

Improvements made post pandemic! I stayed here often in 2019 and early 2020 my have noticed some improvements. The rooms seem to be fresher and a moldy smell from the past eliminated. The staff is great even though like most places they are overwhelmed but very accommodating. Definitely a go to hotel for business trips to the area.

Review for the stay during 2018 i believe - just saw this review preserved in draft folder… :) Good hotel - spacious rooms.. Highlight: staff highly professional and very good at service. Quick check in and even faster check out! But for me it’s the breakfast that gets 2 circles or points out of 5, where this hotel completely failed...hence i give a 3 star. Apart from breakfast everything is very good... especially for the price. Breakfast from bistro was ok ok...not much options to chose from...omelette was just ok.. I ended up staying in friends place in NJ, thanks to the breakfast..

We booked a block of 15 rooms through Tiffany, the hotel's sales manager. She was prompt in responding to our inquiry & offered a competitive rate ($119/night/room). The rooms were clean, well maintained, and up-to-date. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet. The hotel was also spacious, with plenty of indoor and outdoor common spaces making it easy to gather while socially distancing from other guests. We also booked the hotel's meeting room ($100/function), where we catered a couple meals for our guests. Comfortable sat a group of 30-40 people with room for catered food. Location is excellent: right off route 1, quick 5-10min drive to Princeton's campus, and direct access to beautiful trails along the river that can also be used for an ~ 45min walk to Princeton's main campus. We were a bit hesitant to book based on the COVID-era reviews, but the staff were friendly and the hotel is more than up to standards.

Only my 2nd stay in a hotel since Pandemic and was looking forward to sleeping late. At 6am I woke up to loud Spanish speaking people, and figured they were students leaving early. It kept up for an hour, and I finally peaked out. Not students. It was the housekeeping staff laughing, talking on their phones, and otherwise having a grand old time. I complained to front desk, asked for the manager and was told he was on a conference call. The man I spoke to could have cared less There are many places to stay in the area, I'd avoid this one.

Stayed here for 2 nights with a sports team. This was one of Marriotts older Courtyard properties. The positive is that it had a good location right off Rt 1 near many businesses and plenty of parking. However, the down side was that the rooms really needed to be updated. The lobby was a nice general area to hang out in. The front desk girls were polite and accommodating to the young athletes that occupied most of their rooms.

4/2 I called the hotel at 1PM to confirm they saw my requests of feather free, not near elevator and high floor if possible. Front desk person said we could only be on floor 2 out of 3 but feather free would be no problem. Checking in at 11PM we were given a room directly across from the elevator and had feather pillows. I asked to be moved and was told they were full. I call back again to at least get two foam pillows. She put me on hold and then said we could move to a King suite on 3rd floor which I thought was great. Room 312. She had housekeeping check for feather free. It must have a compressor on the roof above the room as it had a loud hum that was constant. Never stopped. With earplugs and pillow over my head, finally was able to sleep. We were out all day and returned at 11PM. When we walked in there was a VERY strong odor of fried fish. I'm not talking a little odor but really strong. We determined it was coming from the vent in the bathroom. The bathroom ceiling had many stains from some type of leak from the roof and we guessed that the vent was venting from another room. We kept the bathroom door closed and only went in when we had to. Taking showers the next morning made the odor worse. There's no restaurant in the hotel, so it must have been another room. A little disconcerting that we were breathing air from another room. The staff is nice enough at this hotel, but it really needs some revamping of the HVAC! Night

I truly apologize you did not have a great stay with us. I have spoken with our Guest Services team to ensure we do a better job with Feather Free Requests, as a guest could be allergic. I also apologize that the suite we upgraded you to was not up to par. We have taken that room out of inventory to deal with the maintenance issues. I appreciate your comments and we hope you will give us another chance if your travels bring you back to the Princeton area.
