Dear Readers, Don't book the Sifting Sands Motel. Bugs in room 20, ignorant front desk people, and a lack of cleaning by maid service. We also had to pay for our own beach tags. Arnie (the front desk senior citizen) did not have lots to say when we questioned him about these problems. He told us we were being a...

WE have been coming to this hotel for the past three years. The people are just great. It is a family place and the location could not be better. I was wondering about a larger room for 2009 and got a grand tour of different types of rooms. The staff is just great. Can not wait till 2009 in July...

Just returned from 5 days at the Sifting Sands. Very happy with accomodations: bright , sunny room and bath; 2 burner stove and refrig.; nice cabinet & counter space. Location was great-- 9th and Ocean Ave.: close to the boardwalk, ocean ,restaurants, and shopping on Asbury Ave. After swimming in the ocean, we came back and swam in the heated pool....

We called a day in advance and asked "Arnie" (the manager) for a newer room. We said we did not have a ton of money and we have a family of 3. Arnie said he had a new room that was just finished this year. He said it wasn't the largest room but that it was decorated beautifully. It was...

My parents stayed here for my sister's wedding. They booked 2 nights. My father who never complains about anything felt the place should have been torn down. My parents were so disappointed that we went and got their belongings the next day. When I saw the place I could not believe that this place had cost them $179.00 per night....

We stayed at this hotel last year and had room #11; not a very good one. But, went back this weekend for an overnight stay, had room #48 and it was a good experience. We found out last year that not all rooms are updated and some are privately owned; that's why some are nicer than others. Room #48 was...

We stayed in room 48. Furniture was very sparse. There was a bed, a couch, and a small end table beside the couch. There was some built in cabinetry around the bed. However, there was no place to sit a clock, lamp, or even your pocket change in the bedroom. There was one tiny mirror in the bathroom vanity. No...

We just returned from 4 nights at the Sifting Sands. Room 5 is located on the first floor, the only room on the street side of the hotel, away from the parking lot. It has it's own teensy patio with chairs. Overall this hotel was a great value and very convenient! Complete kitchenette was super for preparing beach lunches, and...

What can I say about this place?? They said the rooms were recently renovated?? Well the room that we stayed in they must have forgot to renovate or ran out of money!! The walls were done sloppy(maybe it was the design but it was still crappy). They said they had ice machines!!! Wrong again, they had bags of ice that...

We stayed in room #21 and loved it. The room has been redone and looks awesome. The queen bed had a pillowtop mattress and was very comfortable. We also liked that the room had ceramic tile instead of carpet. We used the heated pool and found it to be very clean. The room also had a refrig, microwave coffee pot,...
