If you want to leave with cockroaches and mice please welcome to Hotel Riviera. If you want to know about hotels styles during Soviet union times just visit this place. The staff is quite friendly they changed our room at 1 am because we found a mouse!

This place is great if you like cockroaches, crime, rude people and uncleanliness. The room I was sent to was disgusting the receptionist became very agitated at the mere sight of me returning to the desk. I guess this comes from her hearing horrible things about this hotel on a daily. As if my mind wasn't already made up, I will... More

I stayed one night in this hotel, the hood seems to be unsafe more likely as a ghetto. When i entered inside it i felt that the security control was a problem, the receptionist was behind barriers and so on. The room was not too bad, but be aware that there are insects in the buildings... And the wifi is... More

Everything you have read is true! We stayed here because...well..it was in the NY NY area, and under $100. The rooms are pretty...hardwood floors, the bed was soft. The floors were clean. The bathroom ceiling was like the Olympic Diving pool in Rio...green and scary. The neighborhood is somewhat frightening (that is your adventure part). But hey, located between Martin... More

One word: Horrifying. I have never been so disgusted by a hotel in my life. From the people loitering outside, to the clerk behind safety glass. This place is in a sketchy neighborhood and feels totally unsafe. The rooms are not clean, the A/C does not work (spits water out) and I was afraid to sleep on the sheets. There... More

If you value your life and property you would avoid this place like the plague. It is located is one the worst drug infested areas in Newark, It is filthy and usually a hang out for prostitutes. There is absolutely no reason to stay here.

To be totally honest " Please do not venture here" . WiFi won't work, except for 2 receptionists the staff are horrendous, decor would be a miss as really the place wants demolishing . To me this is the nastiest hotel on this planet & I'm a seasoned traveller.
