Captain Mey's Bed and Breakfast is in an excellent location in Cape May, NJ - less than two blocks from the beach, half a block from the Washington Street Mall, right in the heart of the beautiful Victorian center of town. The rooms and furnishings are beautiful. But this place needs some work and attention. One of our windows had...

We had a great stay. We were there for 5 nights. We had very little interaction with the staff, which sometimes isn't a bad thing. We got there and our key was waiting for us, we checked ourselves in. When we left, we just left the key in the room and took off. The room was small but comfortable. The...

I made a solo trip here to relax and recharge by myself. Arrived thinking I had the Queen Beatrix but got the Willem the Silent room instead...major score! Although I would have had a private bath with the Queen room, it was outside of the room itself. Willem had an in-room bathroom. Room was impeccably clean the bed was comfortable....

We made a reservation on the 800 number associated with the hotel. When we tried to cancel the reservation the person that answers the phone refused to cancel the reservation. Despite the reservation being three months out. They claim to have the reservation and they do take payment from the 800 service but claim no responsibility and refused to be...

We stayed two days celebrating our 25th anniversary, at $99 per night plus tax. It is a bit different from our earlier visit about 20 years ago (no "full, hot breakfast"), but still a very good experience. The innkeeper is extremely nice, courteous and offers assistance for anything we needed. Yes, the rooms show their wear … but it is...

Very good location near the Washington Street Mall and near the beach, right in the historic district. Has off-street parking. Breakfast was very basic and the I'd say the bathroom was a bit small and outdated. The staff was not always around.

It has become a family practice to spend a few days in early fall in Cape May NJ. This year we selected a different B & B at which to stay, The Captain Mey Inn. We found the rooms acceptable, but not exciting. The staff was frequently hard to find. Breakfast disappeared before we ever had a chance to enjoy...

Booking online is a bit risky. Was advertised as, "Most affordable".Yes, probably for most, but there are better, more affordable deals around. Location is excellent; near a nice town area and the beach. Place was very pretty. When we got there, the door was locked and we called the number on the door and no one answered. Rita was surprised...

“Owner was very nice once she let us in. We stood on the porch with our bags in 90+ degree weather for 10 minutes watching her through the window speaking to another guest while she looked at us and held up her index finger gesturing to us to wait for her. When the other guest finally saw we were hot and getting impatient, they finally told the owner to let us in. She was very nice and explained about the B & B and took us to our room. That was the last we ever saw of her. The AC in the room was insuficient and there were 2 winter blankets on the bed. No light weight blankets. The sheets on our queen bed were pilled and sooo uncomfortable on my skin. The "fitted" sheet came off on both sides within 10 minutes of getting into bed so we were sleeping on scratchy pilled crinkled up sheets...basically sleeping half on the sheet pile and half on the waterproof mattress cover. The pillows were so overstuffed and hard that they were useless...unless you wanted to commit to a stiff neck for 4 days. And did I mention how hot it was?!? My final complaint was the breakfast. A plate of bagels, english muffins and a bowl of hard boiled eggs left on the table with no "staff" anywhere in sight. Seriously?!? I have never stayed in a B&B that didn't make you a really nice cooked breakfast. It was way worse than any chain hotel's cont. breakfast. Did I really pay $160 for this? I recommend you stay at a Holiday Inn Express over the Captain Mey's B&B anytime.”
