Great place to stay. Best part was excellent parking and we didn’t need to use our car for 2 days. Breakfast was yummy. It wasn’t set up until 730am though. Housekeeping didn’t service our room which was fine since we were there only 2 nights. Trash got pretty full though - loved the to go coffee all day downstairs. The shower was tricky to figure out and I got blasted with cold water to face and all over the room. We stayed in 204, nice comfy clean room. Bathroom was super small. No place to put clean clothes while in shower. Wifi was free and great connection. We’d love to come again. We’ve lived in CT 22 years but this was first trip to your wonderful city.
I’ve stayed at Hotel Portsmouth many times, because it’s the perfect cozy getaway in walking distance of all downtown Portsmouth has to offer. I especially choose it in the winter months due to their festive, cozy atmosphere. The breakfast nook and free coffee is something to wake up for. Though this visit I was pleased to see that the self serve breakfast nook was closed due the pandemic. This is a sure sign the staff are taking it seriously and care for everyone’s safety! Free coffee and tea was still available. I stayed in the Loft room this time. There is a claw foot soaking tub so I treated myself to a quiet, rejuvenating getaway for my 35th bday. The staff even provides eucalyptus bath salts. This is a great place to stay!
Once an historic home, later Miss Flora's Salon for the wives of the town's elite, this stylish hotel was a very comfortable base from which to explore Portsmouth. Our attractive, spacious room (108) is decorated in a clean modern motif. The immaculate modern bathroom has a large glass-walled shower stall and toilet in one room, with the sink and counter just outside. This is a very quiet room and we slept soundly. Coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the breakfast area. We were charmed by the staff's enthusiasm for their lovely property, and enjoyed hearing about the history of the building. Most of all, we enjoyed our walks around Portsmouth and our visits to nearby restaurants. We especially enjoyed Cure, Durbar Square, La Maison Navarre, and Warren's Lobster House across the bridge in Kittery.…
Beautiful building, very clean, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water. Welcoming and informative staff. Hotel is within walking distance of downtown, the waterfront, and many attractions. Really enjoyed our stay.
This is a hidden gem in downtown Portsmouth. Beautiful property in a splendid Victorian house - clean, comfortable, stylish accommodations. Great value! Easy walk to downtown Portsmouth. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.
You should treat yourself to a night or two at this lovely boutique hotel conveniently located in beautiful and historic Portsmouth! We stayed on the third floor in The Loft. SO cute: two bathrooms, comfy bed, living area, and soaker tub! Quick walk to all the downtown restaurants. Light and yummy breakfast. Everyone we encountered there was friendly and helpful. Treat yourself!
The hotel is charming and full of character - from having an actual room key, a yellow rotary phone in the room, a "retro" green microwave in the breakfast room and the gorgeous wood staircase in the main level. The staff was friendly and the manager went out of his way to help us with a billing issue. The room was clean, the bed and pillows very comfortable, and the Lather bath products were a real treat. I appreciated that they weren't "single use" which end up needing to be thrown out after every guest leaves. Two lovely quiet reading rooms downstairs with very comfortable chairs. Many unique items to choose from for breakfast (overnight oats, yogurt parfait, fruit cups, HB eggs with sauces, among other offerings). All served on real plates and silverware which made for a very full breakfast. And let's not forget the little touches - coffee and hot water available 24 hours, umbrellas in the rooms, and waffle robes to use. Lastly, the location can't be beat. With your car conveniently parked at the hotel, it is about a 5 minute walk to the Music Hall and downtown restaurants.…
If you want a beautiful boutique hotel, with comfortable beds, soft linens ,modern showers ,friendly employees, unique and delicious continental breakfast, and free parking in the Portsmouth downtown area , this is hotel for you. The building has a new section but also keeps the unique charm and gorgeous woodwork of it’s original structure. My husband and I can’t wait to go back.
Very nice place. Comfortable rooms. Super clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Very attentive staff. They do a great job with breakfast (high end food choices). We have been here twice and will definitely go again.
Exactly as shown in photos. Hotel and rooms are charming, large, spotless and freshly manicured. Self-serve breakfast was a tempting display of various individual servings of house-made prepared treats, along with fruits, breads, etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location for meandering around downtown and, as we did, attending a fabulous concert at Jimmy's Jazz and Blues Club. Looking forward to returning to hotel room 214!
