Jessica H. was by far the best bartender we have had. She was attentive, kind and mindful. We enjoyed the food and the drinks. Very nice atmosphere and good food. We will always return and hope Jessica will be there.

Excellent hotel! We visited for a quick getaway and the AC was in a great location for walking around Portsmouth. The hotel is very new so everything was modern and spotless and clean. The area is up and coming and newly developed. The Envio restaurant looks amazing here as does the breakfast but we were so close to walking through downtown that we ate elsewhere. We will definitely be back and will try the Envio then!

The rooms are nice, small. We had a couple of bad interactions with staff. Tried to access rooftop restaurant for our reserved breakfast in the outdoor igloo at 9:50 am. They open at 10. There were a dozen people standing outside of the elevator because the elevators don’t start working until 10. This resulted in too many people in the elevator, and since they did not enforce their mask policy we refused to get in. We had to wait and ended up being late for our reserved time. The actual breakfast was just ok, no fresh egg options and the price is $30, plus a $100 igloo fee. The best part is we finished up breakfast and headed down to grab our bags from our room and get our car. Could not access the elevator to the rooms. Check out time is 11 am losers! So they lock you out of your room after paying $300 a night and having a $300 breakfast in THE HOTEL RESTAURANT! Outrageous. I’m a Bonvoy member and have a Bonvoy AX card and they still treat you like you’re at a motel 6. PS we had a lovely dinner at the Bonvoy restaurant at the neighboring Wentworth Hotel.

I understand you were upset about a few of the policies in the hotel and I apologize that this detracted from your overall experience. Our restaurant does open for Sunday brunch promptly at 10am and we do have 2 elevators to control the traffic of arriving patrons. I apologize that your feel as though we locked you out of your room. Our room keys do stop working at 11am checkout time but we are always happy to offer extended check out times for Bonvoy members thus extending key usage. Our goal is to provide a frictionless stay and I am truly sorry for the roadblocks that prevented you from fully enjoying your stay.

The good and great: Nice hotel, super friendly staff. Clean. I liked the styling. Comfy rooms, and beds. Big bathroom. The NotSoMuch: The AC Kitchen (Breakfast) is a complete rip-off. $50 for two eggs on a piece of toast. What the...? Expensive at the Rooftop, but that's technically a separate venue. The shower was an adventure trying to get the heads to work properly. My reservation was messed up and so was my bill, but they took care of it showing their excellent service. We'd stay here again, but wouldn't waste the money eating on-site.

This was our first time to Portsmouth and it won't be our last. The hotel is lovely with beautiful decor and in a great location for walking to shops and restaurants. The room was spotless, and I loved the fitted shower enclosure which meant no grout that can often get moldy. Every meal we had in the area was excellent, and the rooftop bar is fun. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. It's unfortunate that the charge for parking is so high. My only other complaint (if you can call it that) is that the bathroom didn't have a magnified makeup mirror attached to the wall as just about every resort has these days. We will return!

New property on the north end of town. Close to shops and restaurants. Comfy furnishings and lovely staff. Standard Marriott layout for rooms, which were a little dark if you want to do anything more than sleep in your room. The staff were great. Very friendly and nice comfort touches like lavender sachet's to take to your room, chocolates and they even left out cookies and milk for Santa on Christmas Eve. Excellent gym facility (no pool) with plenty of weights and a studio room with live and recorded classes to take. Only complaint (as others have mentioned) is the price of parking ($40/day). A bit excessive when you an park on the street for a fraction of that. Will definitely stay here any time we're in Portsmouth. Oh, and dog friendly. too

I've visited this facility often and put out of town guests here frequently. We held a small business meeting at this hotel. All attendees live local or within a few hours, we rented over a dozen rooms and meeting space and had food. Upon arriving we were told the parking garage was closed and we needed to valet and pay $40 a night to park. I certainly did not mind tipping the valet for me and all of my guests, but the $40 seemed steep for 13 vehicles. This is not Boston. This was a mid-week event and their lot was empty. When I spoke to the manager on duty about it, she held up our event contract and said its in your contract and, were not changing it and everyone in Portsmouth charges for parking....tone deaf. Chris, the GM then told me online that it was liability issue (new story) and the we were welcome to park on the street (free after 8, but we were in meetings all afternoon and and would have had to feed meters) or we could use the parking garage a few blocks away. Its also winter....and we were already paying the facility for the event and rooms..... This was a simple service issue, easy for them to solve instead of arguing or offering stupid solutions. The staff and the facility are great, but poor service starts at the top and disappointed that a Marriott facility could not solve a simple service issue in this scenario.

Stayed here to attend family wedding across the river in Maine. We had a large room with 2 queen beds. Room was clean and we were able to get foam pillows right after we checked in and extra towels whenever we needed them. The room has benches across the main wall which made it easy to store 4 carryon bags (and shoes underneath) instead of crowding up the room. Large fridge in room held a lot of snacks and drinks. Small sitting area by window with nice view of the water across the street. Super convenient to walk to quaint downtown area with shops and restaurants. Lots of historic places mixed in with modern amenities. Surprisingly quite room considering room was on the street and next to a hoppin' restaurant/bar. Valet parking is pretty steep and one night when we came back late the valet wasn't there so we left the car on the street and dowloaded the ParkMobile app to add money in the morning (after 9 am.) Valet was quick to bring car for the most part, though. Not a huge lobby area, but cool vibe. We would definitely stay here again.

For our first trip in 18 months, we visited 4 New England hotels, two Hilton properties and two Marriott. We spent a night on Marriott points at the AC Portsmouth. The hotel is very stylish and modern and our room, which included a small couch, was lovely. We had a slight water view. It had USB ports as well as outlets. The room was clean and pleasant, though the shower controls were challenging. There was a rooftop bar/restaurant that we did not use, though it seemed popular. We did use the fitness room, which was spacious and well-equipped, with multiple machines as well as an online fitness area. Parking is normally $30 a night, but as we arrived later in the day and then drove to a restaurant, the doorman suggested street parking, which was free after 8 pm till 9 am. I was then able to pay with an app till we left at noon. The hotel is in a fairly new area, with other hotels, offices, and restaurants nearby. We would definitely return here.
