My husband and I have stayed several times. Everything is beautiful and immaculate. The Innkeepers are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is superb. Parking right at the Inn and then explore Portsmouth sights and restaurants on foot.

Charming B&B inn within a ten minute walk from downtown Portsmouth. Park your vehicle at the inn and stroll through Portsmouth at your leisure . Wonderful Innkeepers. Comfortable rooms in an old world atmosphere. Three season shade garden and private parking. The hosts served a wonderful New England breakfast with never ending coffee and juice. Our accommodations were in the...

From the moment you enter the Inn, Russ and Megan welcome you into their 19th century Inn. Literally. The room I stayed in was the Ranger. Thoughtful conveniences are found, with free bottles of water and snacks. The room was tastefully decorated, capturing the old along with the new, creating a unique living space. If the room snacks aren't enough,...

Unfortunately, we arrived late and only for one night. However, the room was lovely though small, and the bed was outstanding. Breakfast was memorable, and the conversation lively. Hopefully we can come back and stay longer sometime.

We had arrived late to Manchester airport and didn't want to drive more than an hour to our first accommodation. Martin Hill Inn, is well located within walking distance of downtown Portsmoutn. Meg and Russ, innkeepers, were very communicative ahead of our arrival and most accommodating of our late arrival with email instructions as to how to get into the...

It would have been helpful if the reservation confirmation told us where to park as we drove around the busy block a few times. The inn is old, which means the stairs are tight and steep-hard to get luggage up and down. The inn itself feels cramped and the decor is very eclectic and not in keeping with its history....

Most of our guests appreciate the historic aspects of the Inn. Yes, old New England buildings are noted for their steep and narrow stairs. We point out second floor rooms on our website, but if your preferences in luggage are inclined towards the large and the heavy you may want to stick to our first floor rooms (Ranger, Nightingale, Noonday)....

My wife and I spent 3 nights in this lovely B&B as part of an overall one month New England vacation that included staying in 9 bed and breakfast inns in 5 different states. This inn was the beginning of our 30 day adventure. The Martin Hill Inn did not let us down. The inn itself overall is beautiful and...

No shower in our room. Try to wash your hair in a bathtub. Nice people. Walking distance to town and shops. Schlepping luggage to 2nd floor not fun. Spent 1 night so didn't experience much. Parking a problem and far from room.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your brief stay. We are sorry that you did not realize that your room was on the second floor or that it had a beautiful clawfoot bathtub, which is clearly stated on our website. We are sorry that you found the 100' walk through our lovely garden to the parking lot tiresome,...

Spent 5 nights in the Ranger room on a recent trip (Sept '16) with my father. The Inn is fantastic - very clean, beautifully decorated and beds extremely comfortable! The Ranger room has a King-size bed and a single, with plenty of room, nice bathroom with shower, and great air conditioning. Breakfast was always fantastic, and they serve the best...
