This place is nestled up in the hills and away from the outlet mall chaos down below. Quaint, atmospheric and friendly. It was a good central location for two days of exploring the white mountains.
The floors and stairs creak just enough to give it...More
I first stayed at this hotel 20 years ago when I had a spare weekend on a business trip. I finally brought my wife for our 30th anniversary. The location is stunning, the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Staying here is like going...More
We love the Eagle Mountain House - we have stayed in Jackson many times and always come home to this wonderful historic hotel. We were visiting again from the UK and found that the magic was still there - the staff were really friendly and...More

Not the fanciest but not the worst, back in the day this would have been the place. Great outdoors and walking paths. Agree with many reviews it needs some TLC but spooky ambience is all over the place. Reminds me of the Shining better than...More

I like Eagle Mt and would recommend it too. been there many times. We have Its a historic hotel and that is the charm. Lots of wood, wide hallways, radiators, an elevator with iron bar doors; a wooden bannister. Yes, the hotel restaurant has no atmosphere. Instead, try the Wildcat Tavern Inn in downtown Jackson. Very cool pub/restaurant with live music in the bar - they also have non bar sitting which is nice as well. There is another place as well to check out - the Shovel Handel Pub - that a bit outside of town, but deeper in the interior of the mountain/town. October would be a great time to visit - make a reservation and ask to be closer to on the upper floors, closer to the lobby side of the hotel. Otherwise, you'll have a long walk to less nice rooms.
