I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when I'm in NH! Aside from the very nourishing breakfasts, including Sandi's awesome scones and Fred's wonderful fruit concoctions, I always feel at home there and am usually reluctant to leave and head back to the 'real world.' Sandi and Fred are not just hosts of a B&B, they have become dear friends.

Thank you for your review. We love it when guests become regular visitors such that they actually do become friends. We always look forward to re-establishing the things that have happened in everyone's life during the time between visits. May we continue our pleasant contacts for the years to come. Best wishes, Sandi & Fred

This B&B is superb. The rooms are spacious yet cozy. Very beautifully decorated. Hosts Sandy and Fred are so friendly after breakfast and few hours conversation it felt like their family. Scones and cookies are homemade by Sandy and so delicious my boys couldn't have enough. We asked for place to buy some local maple syrup but weren't able to...

What a wonderful B&B. From the minute we walked in, we were welcomed by Sandi and made to feel at home. We slept in missed our breakfast call but Sandi was more than accommodating and saved us breakfast, so we did not leave hungry. Wonderful experience, would stay again!

Absolutely love this b&b and Fred and Sandy the owners made me feel so at home. Make sure you try the scones and homemade breakfast items. Every single room is furnished in colonial furniture. There is do much history in the b&b.

This Inn was great! Sandi and Fred are wonderful hosts. I would recommend this place to any friends and family. Breakfast and the scones (they really do live up to the reviews) were really good, they even cater to making gluten-free scones for us. Which was a great treat!

I loved this place. I was looking for a relaxing night away and the inn was perfect. Sandi and Fred were so nice and welcoming. When I arrived, Sandi asked what I wanted for breakfast and I asked for those scones I heard about from the reviews and she was so happy to make them, and they lived up to...

Sandi and Fred are fabulous hosts in a warm and inviting B&B. This was our first visit and we hope we have many more. We felt like we were 'home', with all the amenities. Large, comfortable and beautifullly appointed rooms (we stayed in the Franklin Room), the dining room was available with snacks and drinks through out the day. We...

Thank you for your kind review! We thoroughly enjoyed getting acquainted with you. It was a very pleasant interlude during a slow time at the inn and we look forward to seeing you again some time. It was unfortunate that you had to leave so early for your flight - we missed having breakfast with you that day. Regards, Sandi...

The Maria (pronounce "Ma-rye-ah", by the way) Atwood Inn proved to be a gem. Fred, Sandi, and their official greeting dog, Mooney (who looks like he just stepped out of a 17th century painting), were delightfully warm and friendly. We feel like we genuinely made new friends. We stayed in the White Mountain room on the third floor which features...

Thank you for the kind review. Your visit was a pleasure for us, though the circumstances of the incident were not what anyone would choose. Fortunately, no one was hurt. While auto accidents are never pleasant, occurring on vacation so far from home makes it much worse. You handled it well and we were happy to get to know you...

My sister and I were looking for a B&B to attend a wool arts festival and just happened upon the Maria Atwood Inn this fall. I hurriedly booked the room not having done much research on the place....what a marvelous gem we found!!!! We were completely delighted with our stay. Both Sandi and Fred are welcoming, warm and gracious....they engender...

The main reasons for staying here are made clear by the majority of reviewers: the warmth of the welcome, the food at breakfast time and the homely atmosphere of this two hundred year old house. It was very interesting to linger over breakfast (all delicious, fresh home cooking) talking to the other guests. We felt that we learned a lot...
