Nothing here to brag about!...no food....and I heard some of the regulars talk about the owners audio-taping the clientele....the place down the street Black Bear at least has food....next time me and my girlfriend are in Colebrook we'll go to "THE BEAR"
We enjoyed our stay at Colebrook country club motel. What a welcoming & beautiful place! The owners & staff were kind, attentive and friendly. Our rooms were clean & updated with nice amenities (AC, WiFi, microwave, fridge, etc). Bed was comfortable with soft bedding & linens. Bar area had pool tables, air hockey & arcade-type games which was a plus! We definitely will return in the future!
We needed to secure 9 rooms for my dad's sudden passing. The couple that owns the hotel did a fantastic job making everything comfortable and easy for our family. They had us use the lounge for a family gathering. The rooms are still in the process of being updated...but what we got were the updated rooms which were comfortable and easy to check in. The family will be back in June for dad's celebration...this is where we will stay. Thank you for being there when we needed a place to stay!
Our family put us up in the Country Club for a few nights while the kids stayed with them. Room was clean and comfy. Owner was super friendly and hospitable. Room was updated except for desk and nightstand which is acceptable after learning the property was owned by Ethan Allen 50+ years ago and that was their stamped furniture. Loved the free coffee options. Only downside was how thin the walls are since you can hear all the snowmobiles early in the morning and the guests in next room.
Our stay was very nice. The room was clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Snowmobile trail steps away from motel. Will stay again when up in Colebrook. If you’re looking for luxury this isn’t it. The room was dated but like I said it was clean. Everything worked for us. We didn’t stay in room long just to sleep so it was great! And GREAT sunrise view from room!
Low rates and nearly at the Canadian border, we were very pleased to find a lively lounge, attractive dining and lovely accommodations -- plus lots to do! Best of all, however, was the graciousness of the ownership. When we had a medical emergency and could not use our room, they allowed us to cancel the reservation even though it was well beyond the cancellation deadline. Nice.
Was going to Canada to pick up a few supplies and decided to stay at the Colebrook Golf country club so we could play a round if weather permitted. 36 degrees in the mourning was a bit too cold so we skipped it. The hotel was clean but no amenities. Coffee is all they had, and it was in the office. Very outdated and could not control the heat which was way too hot, but we got what we paid for---very inexpensive. I would not stay a second time.
We stayed one night while we scoped out area. Room was basic, older but very clean and well kept. Minimal extras but answered all our needs. Good price, very helpful staff who supplied an extension cord at 9 pm. at night in answer to a CPAP problem. Staff very friendly and cheerful making stay fun. Very accessible to town and surrounding areas and knowledgeable staff who knew the area. Golf course looked great but did not have time this trip. WIFI worked. Will be back with ATV.
The rooms are a little dated however they are very clean. The staff is very friendly and gave us a late check out so we could go snowmobiling for the day. Best of all it has great access to the snow mobile trails!
We stayed in Colebrook so Me and my grandchildren could get an early start on doing trail maintenance on the COHOS trail. We needed an early start to get to the Baldhead Shelter to work on Gadwah Notch Trail Section. We have stayed here before, nice and clean, no microwave though in our room. The Dining room no longer has meals but I've gone into the lounge before for a few beers. They advertise music as well but I've not bothered to go listen to that as I'm up early to get outdoors. It does have a golf course here, and usually lots of ATV's in the parking lot.
