Nick and Susan have a perfect balance - welcoming, personable, to be sure you have what you need/want, and then, they let you relax. Mountain Fare is an older inn; only the WiFi gives the date away. It is family - friendly; guests mingle easily in the common areas, swapping ski conditions and local sights. Loved reading by the fire. Be sure to try the homemade strawberry jam at breakfast!

My friends and I stayed at the Mountain Fare in for a reunion with 10+ couples, and it was perfect! Super easy drive home Boston, and in a very easy location. The Inn was super cute and had everything we needed.... and more! The rooms were clean and spacious, and there was plenty of space to hang out, dine, prep meals, etc. The Inn keep was very kind and accommodating, and planning was easy since she was so responsive. Highly recommend!

The rooms are spacious and comfortable; our bathroom was almost the size of a bedroom in some b&b's. The location is perfect if -- like us -- you want to canoe and hike: it's between Squam Lake (so interesting it's easy to get lost) and the White Mountains. Friendly and helpful staff, including Sam the dog, and great breakfasts.

Our multigenerational 25+ family members gathered for a delightful week. The staff were indeed amazing -- calm, accommodating, friendly. They set a very high standard for other hosts.

Highly recommended.

We just returned from a 3-night Thanksgiving weekend visit at the Inn to celebrate my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary. My wife is one of 6 and, with grandchildren, we totaled 31 guests. Given the size of our party, we booked the entire Inn. I cannot say enough about the Inn and the exceptional service provided by Sue and Nick. Highlights included: An amazing breakfast each day, a wonderful carriage house with a pool table, fireplaces galore, easy access to a number of great hikes (check out the Basin and the Lonesome Lake hikes), and exceptional service by our hosts (including a bonfire with S'mores and time in the trampoline room courtesy of Nick). I highly, highly recommend you consider staying at the Mountain Fare Inn!

We stayed at the Mountain Fare Inn at the beginning of October during our honeymoon road trip of New England. Having had a nearby AirBnB reservation declined due to us only wanting a single night's stay, we managed to book a single night at the Mountain Fare at very late notice. Reservation was a little tricky via email but we got there in the end. The owner, Susan, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She recommended we take the beautiful White Peaks Room in 'the Barn', given our recent nuptials. It was a little more expensive but we were glad we took her advice as it was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and even had its own entrance! Susan had left some chocolates and a hand-written note which was a really nice touch.

We arrived at the Mountain Fare Inn quite late so we set out to find something to eat and ended up at the nearby Woodpeckers Pub & Eatery. Whilst we wouldn't necessarily recommend Woodpeckers, it was great for getting a snapshot of Saturday night American life. Upon returning to the Mountain Fare Inn, we discovered the games room complete with a pool table and a full-sized trampoline! After a few bounces, we retired to bed and had a blissful night's sleep, completely dark and completely silent. The next morning we tucked into a delicious breakfast and met some of the other guests. We would have loved to have stayed longer at the Mountain Fare Inn but we had to move onto the next destination on our honeymoon road trip.

On a spur of the moment trip to the white mountains we chose the mountain fare inn based on its location. Beautiful and very peaceful! Alot of the other towns around the mountains are super crowded. The inn has a pretty garden, nice comfy rooms, and awesome breakfast. The inn keepers are very helpful and accommodating!

This was my first stay at the Inn, but have stayed several times since. My son is a skier on a team at Waterville Valley and this location works perfect when we need to stay close by. I have stayed in several rooms and all were wonderful. In the main house I really like the room with the gas fireplace. In the barn we stayed in the room in the front with log beds and they were so soft and comfy. Breakfast is always delicious. The owners and the staff could not have been more accomodating to all our needs. We just love it there and will be back again this winter,

If you have any reason to be near Campton, NH, and are looking for a fantastic B&B, the Mountain Fare Inn is the answer. I had the pleasure of staying for two nights with a friend, and I would 100% go back and stay again. There is so much charm in this spacious, comfy farmhouse style inn from the creaky wood floors, rockers on the front porch, and the sincere and joyful welcome from the owner and staff. The delicious breakfasts each morning included made-to-order eggs with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and various breads and scrumptious french toast. Our room had a queen size bed and a twin, with a sitting room and private bath. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the inn was spotless. We had the opportunity to have a peek into several other rooms at the inn, and each one was a delightful surprise. If you are like me and would rather support a local business establishment versus a big chain hotel/motel, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a stay at this inn. You will not be disappointed. And, if you live in the area and are looking for a recommendation for friends or family to stay, this is the place. A big shut out and thank you to Susan, and especially Tina, for their hospitality, care and genuine pleasure to be our hosts for the weekend. We will be back!

Stayed here with several other couples as part of a reunion trip. This was really a great find for our group of 20+ people! Plenty of rooms, each couple had their own bathroom, we had storage space in the fridge, cooked all our meals in the kitchen, played pool and games in the game room, and made s'mores and played soccer in the HUGE yard. The innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this inn!
