Stayed here with several other couples as part of a reunion trip. This was really a great find for our group of 20+ people! Plenty of rooms, each couple had their own bathroom, we had storage space in the fridge, cooked all our meals in the kitchen, played pool and games in the game room, and made s'mores and played soccer in the HUGE yard. The innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this inn!
Stayed here as part of a group, and could not have been happier. The Innkeeper was an excellent host, and the place itself was very cute. This would be an excellent place for couples, families, or a larger group. There is a very (very!) large area in the back to hang out or play soccer or whatever, and a game room that would be a great place for kids or adults to spend some time. The location was perfect. It was a four minute walk (with sidewalk) to a great little brewery, and a very short drive to the Welch-Dickey loop, a really fun and somewhat challenging 4.4 mile hike with great views. Highly recommended!
My friends and I stayed at the Mountain Fare in for a reunion with 10+ couples, and it was perfect! Super easy drive home Boston, and in a very easy location. The Inn was super cute and had everything we needed.... and more! The rooms were clean and spacious, and there was plenty of space to hang out, dine, prep meals, etc. The Inn keep was very kind and accommodating, and planning was easy since she was so responsive. Highly recommend!
We were in room 7 with one double bed and a twin bed and private bathroom. The room was cozy and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious every morning. The innkeepers, Susan and Erica, made our stay so much more enjoyable by offering tips on what to do and see while we were there. It was like coming home every day. The beds and room were so comfortable. We loved staying there and plan on returning!
I had the pleasure of staying at the Mountain Fare Inn while on an Appalachian Mountain Club outing. It is located 8 miles from Waterville Valley Ski Resort. The price is very reasonable for accommodations so close to a ski resort. The accommodations are comfortable and quaint. It is an old building so the noise level (creaks in the floors, doors closing) is fairly high. Susan and Erica were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and had options for various dietary needs. There is a barn next door with a game room (with a pool table) and small sauna. There are a few pub-type restaurants within a short drive and the Dam Brewhouse, a new, local, micro-brew place within walking distance.
i was with at Mountain Fare inn with a group. They have great space on front and back porch for socializing. they allowed us to use their kitchen and dining room for a group evening meal. this saved us a lot of money and allowed us to have a far more socializing time than if we had gone out to a restaurant.
Our group (15 ppl) just visited Mountain Fare for the 3rd time in consecutive years. Every visit has been comfortable, cozy, and completely suited for a relaxing weekend away. Everyone enjoyed their weekend at the inn and have nothing but good things to say about how generous, welcoming, and accommodating Susan (the owner) and Tiffany were with our group. They are genuinely focused on their guests having a comfortable stay. As always, we were able to relax and feel completely at home for our entire stay. Our group agreed that coming to the inn felt very much like family visiting home for the holidays. We look forward to this weekend all year long as a time to relax, regenerate, and renew conversations with each other with enough time to completely connect with one another. The surrounding area, and the inn itself, contribute in a large way to allowing that to happen. We were all more reluctant than usual to leave this time around. Each one of us would recommend a stay at the inn any time of year. The surroundings are equally gorgeous and quaint any season. Susan's rates are very reasonable and include a cooked breakfast each morning. She's also accommodating to people with special dietary needs like gluten free or lactose intolerant. As the organizer for the group, I can say that Susan is a delight to work with and will make every effort to work with you on special request and suggesting activities outside the inn. The Mountain Fare is more than suitable for groups of friends, family reunions, retreats, and other large gatherings as well as a cozy place for a weekend getaway for couples and friends.…
This was our second visit to Mountain Fare Inn and the visit was just as good as it was the first time. The inn is cozy and comfortable and the rooms spacious. There is a nice living room area with a fireplace to relax in as well as a big front porch and nice back deck. The inn sits on 6 acres of land so there is plenty of room to stroll around and enjoy the quiet out doors. Breakfast is from 7:30 - 9:00 each morning and is buffet with some form of eggs, bread, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. Water for tea or hot chocolate is available day and night. The owners are ski instructors and the inn is decorated with a lot of antique skis and ski posters and pictures. The location is conveniently located just a short drive from Squam Lake and many other attractions. We highly recommend the Mountain Fare Inn if you are in this part of New Hampshire. …
Nick and Susan have a perfect balance - welcoming, personable, to be sure you have what you need/want, and then, they let you relax. Mountain Fare is an older inn; only the WiFi gives the date away. It is family - friendly; guests mingle easily in the common areas, swapping ski conditions and local sights. Loved reading by the fire. Be sure to try the homemade strawberry jam at breakfast!
A great place to stay--close to many natural attractions as well as commercial venues and restaurants. It's very quiet! Loved that. Wonderfully warm and inviting hosts. Tasty breakfast and very comfortable common areas. If you are into the night sky, these are *dark* skies, so viewing and photography will benefit. We'll be back!
