Love these historic hotels! Sure, they have quirks but that’s what make the stay an adventure! We had a family parlor room that was actually 2 bedrooms and a parlor—so luxurious. Note that there is no coffee pot, fridge or microwave—I always travel with my collapsible electric kettle. Staff were friendly and professional. Sending a thank you to the nice men setting up the ballroom who let my granddaughters “perform” on the stage. Pool was nice; we appreciated the special shallow section for kiddos. Walking/skiing trail along the river beside golf course is not to be missed. It’s a lovely saunter thru the woods.

Hotel's Favourite
We adore the Mt. Washington Inn/Bretton Woods for all it has to offer. The views and adventures are only surpassed by the service! Stacey and Megan are amazing in the Main Dining Room, Wyatt is wonderful in the Rosebrook Bar area, Kyle is a fantastically gifted fly fishing guide and the entire staff (Flossie, Andrew, Cole and Vince among others) at the golf course make our family feel welcome.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at this beautiful historic hotel. We booked a double queen with Mountain View, and our spacious room was on the 4th floor. Our view from two large windows was the beautiful mountains. We spent most of our afternoons on the porch viewing the mountains , relaxing on a sofa and table for 2, with cocktails and food served by the attentive bar staff. The breakfast buffet was very good, and included an omelet station. Our evening meals were in the main dining room and Stickneys. Both were very good. After dinner and early mornings we enjoyed reading by one of the two large fire places in the large lobby. We were a little apprehensive after reviewing recent reviews, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were welcoming and attentive.

This was my second stay at the Omni, and my first post COVID stay, and certainly not the last. As others have noted, the hotel is grand, but shows signs of its age, but for us that's part of the charm in the common areas. Having previously stayed in the main part of the hotel in a room that was charmingly dated, I was excited to book a room in the newly opened presidential wing with a king bed and a balcony. If you can splurge for the presidential wing, you won't be disappointed. Everything is brand new but still keeps with that old world motif. We had a large tiled shower, great soaking tub, keurig, mini fridge, and flat screen tv. It was my Hubby's birthday and the staff were so helpful in setting up a nice platter, card, and a bottle of wine in the room for our arrival. Also, at check in the lovely attendant (I believe her name was Valerie) wished him a happy birthday which was a nice touch. We dined in the main dining room our first night and Stickney's the second. I did book reservations ahead of time, like many others, I wasn't able to get anyone on the phone via the reservation line, but I left a message and within 24 hours I got a confirmation for my dinner reservations and everything was fine! We had breakfast in the main dining room everyday which we loved! So many great options and the staff was working really hard to make sure we were greeted, our coffees were refilled, and we had everything we need. I make this point as there was a large group conference going on, and I really appreciated that the waitstaff didn't overlook us. We loved walking around the grounds, having a drink by the fire pits, swimming in the outdoor heated pool in late October in New England, and just checking out every nook and cranny of the hotel. We're both looking forward to coming back later in the year when there's some snow on the ground.

First - beautiful grounds and beautiful views. Love the huge fireplace in the lobby with the comfy chairs and sofas. However, I don't worry about the views or the ambiance in the lobby when I book a hotel room. I want an acceptable room. This one was not. Old, worn-out furniture. I mean really beat up. Tiny bathroom. Really small, cramped room. And we could not turn the heat down! It was so hot we had to have the window AC unit on the entire time just to keep the temperature below 74 degrees. No fridge in the room. We had to call the front desk to deliver one. No coffee maker or access to ice (at least on our floor). And for this we paid over $400 per night when we booked direct through the hotel. Over $100 per night more than the same room on the same dates as found on Expedia. All in all I'd have to say I would never go there again. I know their newly renovated Presidential wing is beautiful but it is also extremely expensive. I guess those of us in the main wing don't deserve better. Even at over $400 per night. The room was 2 stars. No more.

The approach to the hotel was impressive, a stunning historical building. This was to be the highlight of our 3 week trip to the USA. Sadly it went downhill from there as our overall stay can best be described as disappointing. The hotel is very tired and run down. Everywhere there is evidence of decay. Our room, described as contemporary was small, well used and shabby, the upholstery on the chairs was very stained there no soft furnishings, robes or blankets and the bathroom was both very small and something from the 1980’s. The closest was tiny. There was no fridge, no coffee making facilities, no shower gel, the list goes on. This was an expensive hotel yet by far the worst we have ever stayed in recently and we travel a great deal. In addition the walls of the bedrooms are paper thin and the ceiling creaked like mad. There was a distinct lack of staff, although those who did serve us tried their best. The chairs in the lounge and on the balcony were full of holes and the stairs on the main staircase was threadbare. Plants on the balcony were dead due to lack of watering. Dinner in the main dining room was another disaster as our main course arrived cold and had to be sent back and the flowers on the table were plastic not what we expect in a luxury hotel! We could not believe that we could not have an after dinner drink around the fire after 9pm because the dining room and bar had closed and no one came around to take any drinks orders. Stickneys was a better experience with attentive staff. The Morcels staff were very good. Guest parking is insufficient when a wedding is taking place. Breakfast at $28 was okay but I couldn’t get a cappuccino in the main restaurant but I could get one myself from the cafe right next door in a paper cup! We could go on but by now you should get the picture. Sadly there is no way we could recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

We love old historic properties, so chose this for a late lunch. The property is stunning even though they have quite a bit of deferred maintenance. The staff is welcoming. We had lunch in the lower restaurant. The food is mediocre at best, not what you would expect from a resort of this calibre. It was on par with any "Fast Food" joint. They really need a chef. While standing outside the dining room in the hallway a bunch of water dropped on me from above. I looked up to see many exposed pipes painted black, some corroded and dripping. Since I did not know the source of this liquid, (none of the options good) I quickly made a trip to the bathroom to wash up. Would be fun to stay here, but would eat somewhere else.

So Poorly Managed. Will not return until Omni sells or realizes how bad the property is being managed. Arrived promised connecting rooms - was given non-connecting rooms. Woman behind desk said 'one room is connecting' - typical of the incompetence during the visit. Was told we would be given $100 credit for the inconvenience: we were not. Received Text bill was emailed to us - it was not. Guy at front desk printed out bill for us missing one day but insisted it was there ( just walked away rather than have to explain a 4th time that the night of the 24th does not start on the 25th). Received follow up text from 'Parker from Omni Mount Washington Resort' asking about stay - called number (603-217-2310) only to be put through to 'Waterview Casino' which confirmed they have no affiliation with Omni (Parker is moonlighting?). Seasoned staff also commented on how bad management was with policies which only irritate (coffee caddy closes at 7am so you have to buy from cafe, no service on veranda past table #12 - I guess stopping service was easier solution than serving guests). Lots of need for maintenance with railings in disrepair, paint peeling, etc. Real shame is the property is beautiful location and so historic: Omni should be greatly ashamed. Upside we found the GRAND MOUNTAIN VIEW RESORT 10 miles north and will be staying there next time - had lunch there with friendly service and great view (9 presidents stayed since 1865 - great find)

Dear clda, Thank you for your review. We apologize that we did not meet your expectations. Our records show that two rooms were originally set up to be connecting for 10/25 to 10/27, and then an extra day was added to arrive on 10/24 as a same day booking, and unfortunately we already had guest in those rooms. We did offer to move you to those connecting rooms the next morning, but we can understand why you declined to move. We apologize that your room credit was not added immediately, and it has now been processed. Our goal is to make every guest's stay a pleasant and memorable experience and we are sorry we fell short this time. We will be following up with our front desk team to ensure that all of our front desk agents are handling guest requests with the utmost care and consideration. We hope to see you again in the future so that we may have the opportunity to give you a true Omni Mount Washington Resort experience.

Receptionist rude and unwelcoming, wouldn’t let me check in while my husband was parking the car. Said it was Protocol! In all our years of travelling I’ve never not been allowed to check in our behalf. Didn’t offer help with bags even though we are pensioners and the room was Miles away. Could not make reservation in restaurant in the morning for same evening and when we returned to hotel in the afternoon the time slot we wanted was fully booked. Food was lukewarm and plates cold. Main course arrived before we had finished our starters!

We were really looking forward to our stay at the Mount Washington Hotel and had splurged to stay there. Our rate was $1200 all in for a family suite - 2 beds and a shared bathroom. Upon arriving to the hotel we found an incredibly busy lobby with stressed front desk staff. No valet parking so you have to park very very far away. We immediately noticed the state of the hotel - paint peeling, torn carpet, dirty and ripped seating, it did not feel or look like a 5 star hotel. Our room was also falling apart with old furniture that was cracked, an uncomfortable bed and a bathroom so small two people couldn't even fit in it. We could hear the people walking above us and the doors don't close all the way (there's a gap at the top) so you can hear people in the hallways! No fridge or coffee maker -The pictures are overselling the property and do not match the actual state. And, the overall experience does not at all match the rate that they are charging. A days inn would be better. They need to close and renovate the entire hotel, or lower their rating or rates.
