Located near the vibrant Fremont Street, the Plaza Hotel & Casino is often celebrated for its spacious and clean rooms, with many guests finding the overall value reasonable thanks to competitive rates and complimentary offerings. However, some visitors call out the additional fees and dated aspects of the rooms. While the service garners mixed feedback for friendliness and efficiency, the hotel's atmosphere is described as lively, though noise can be an issue for guests seeking tranquility. Critiques also highlight small bathrooms and the absence of amenities like fridges in the rooms.

Pretty impressed with the room itself, big room, nice and clean, biggest bed I've ever slept in my entire life, comfortable nights sleep, air conditioner worked really well, bathroom was pretty clean, shower worked easily enough. So if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to staying on the strip, I'd recommend this hotel

On the other hand, don't look for an alternative to the strip. The location of the hotel in downtown is the biggest negative for my stay, its so far away from the nice areas of Vegas that you'll actually want to spend your time in, the surrounding areas (looking at you Fremont Street) are just grim and you'll want to get on the bus (which rarely, if ever, actually shows up) down to the strip at the first chance you get.

I also begrudge paying $38 per night for the resort fee, firstly because its a terrible add-on that should be optional, and secondly because I really didnt see anything at the 'resort' that would have made that price worth it. Even housekeeping has to be specifically requested, so if you want your room cleaning, bed sheets changing or fresh towels, you'll only get them if you ring up and specifically request them. And if you want fresh sheets on your bed, you will have to ring up EACH day you want them changing and 24 hours in advance of when you want them changing, which considering you're paying $38 a day is mad that its not just done as standard.

Overall if you are looking for a cheaper option & dont mind staying in downtown, then this is the hotel to pick, its easily the nicest looking in downtown, is close enough to, but not actually in Fremont Street, was reasonably priced and I have no complaints about the actual room itself. I just cant recommend strongly enough spending a bit more and staying on the strip instead

The stay was just OK this was my first time at the Plaza on yearly trip to Market I had taken up the offer to “bid” on a potential upgrade and was awarded the upgrade for an additional $20 +taxes. The room on the 21st floor has a view of the roof of the Fremont St Experience and the music went on generally till about 1AM - housekeeping services are provided if you call and request I was then told the call was recorded and that “Cyndi” the virtual AI assistant would take care of my needs seems simple enough i. Sled the next morning to confirm and was once again connected to “Cyndi”, who was not able to comprehend my confirmation request and scheduled my services for the following day. Now my third day. Upon my return the bed was made nicely but there were no washcloths I called and was brought what thought was a completed set of towels instead of the requested washcloths so three bath towels and three hand towels later I am back on the phone requesting washcloths I was called about a half later and was told the hotel was out of washcloths and that they would be available about 3am - nuff said. The coffee shop in the lobby Hash Hash a go go was excels the service was outstanding and the food delicious I had like six meals there all were terrific yes I would stay there again but would not “bid“ on a better room as it was not and stay away from the Main Street side of the building as the noise was intrusive

I have stayed at the Plaza several times, this time was going to be for a concert and relaxing pool time. We splurged and got a pool patio room which we were very excited for.....until we woke up the first morning to find that the pool was closed. We sucked it up and found something else to do. Woke up Thursday morning and was planning on a pool day before the concert.....nope. Pool was STILL closed. No communication, no partial refund on the POOL room. Our last full day was Friday and the pool was finally open which we fully enjoyed that day! We were able to get a 2-hr late check out so we got a little pool time in Saturday morning before flying out. Just a heads up with the pool side rooms, I am not sure if it is just on Friday fireworks nights or what, but they did have an open-to-the-public pool party until 2:00 am with lots of music and people.

We played Bingo at the Plaza which was fun, decent value and didn't drag on for hours. Everyone we came across at the Plaza (staff-wise) were great! Drink service was hit or miss, Friday evening was fantastic, other times we were down there for a couple hours and didn't see a cocktail waitress. The room itself was perfect for the 2 of us, nicely renovated with comfy beds and plenty of storage space. The bathroom is still tiny, but it helps having the barn door versus the door that used to open into the toilet/shower area. Having the sink separate is nice so one person can get ready while the other is in the shower, wish the glass in the barn door was frosted heavier there so you aren't looking at the person sitting on the toilet.

There is housekeeping service if you notify 24 hrs in advance. We had no issues getting clean towels, more coffee, garbage bags, etc. from the housekeeping staff in the hallway.

The other thing that was a bit cumbersome was arriving and departing. The entrance is now off the south tower so you have to walk through the whole casino to get a luggage cart and/or check-in. I know, it is better than being on the 3rd floor like it used to be, but........ There was always a doorman/security at the entrance and now that the bus station is gone, that side of the building is a lot less sketchy.

I would absolutely stay at the Plaza again, it is nothing fancy, but has everything I need/want and I love being downtown.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear about the pool being closed for part of your stay and the lack of communication regarding the pool room. I understand how disappointing it must have been to miss out on the pool during your concert trip, and I apologize for any inconvenience this caused. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the pool when it was finally open and that you made the most of it before your departure. I also appreciate your comments on the Bingo games, staff service, and the overall comfort of your room. It’s great to know that you found the renovations and room amenities to your liking. Thank you for pointing out the areas that need improvement, such as drink service consistency and the layout of the check-in and check-out process. We will use your feedback to work on these aspects to enhance our guest experience. We’re pleased that you enjoyed the Plaza overall and that you’re considering staying with us again. Your feedback helps us improve, and we look forward to the opportunity to provide you with an even better experience on your next visit.

Where to begin!?

This is the first hotel I’ve stayed in that doesn’t clean your room, provide fresh towels, etc. We assumed we slept in too long the first day, but then every day after we were out of the room by 9am and no maid service. By day 3 I was out of towels, wash cloths, and almost out of toilet paper. I had been gone all day at a convention and was shocked that none of it was taken care of. I called and asked for towels and toilet paper and they told me they’d be right up. I waited over an hour and went to bed without a shower.

I called the next morning and asked why my room was never cleaned and why my towels never showed up and they told me they don’t clean rooms or do ANY of that unless you call housekeeping 24 hours in advance, every time. Wow, what?!

What an insane way to save money at the expense of your guests! I guess this would be ok if the hotel wasn’t run down and dirty. But, it is.. these are rooms that desperately need cleaning, daily.

Everything about the room felt cheap and old. You don’t get soap or shampoo: you get dispensers in your shower and next to your sink, you know, like a public bathroom. The whole room had public bathroom vibes: if you enjoy the atmosphere of a truck stop bathroom, this is the hotel for you!

Also, pro tip, don’t stay here if you go to bed before 2am. The live bands on Freemont play 7 days a week until 2am and it sounds like they’re right outside your door. Do not even THINK about a room facing Freemont: the bands sound like they’re IN your room then.

I travel to Vegas at least twice a year and this is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in the last 20 years (in Vegas, or elsewhere).

Food is pretty bad too. I want to like Hash House, I really do, but it’s mediocre and frequently closes hours before the posted time. The other restaurants all close early too, so if youre looking for late night eats well… there’s a 24 hour Subway with about 1/4 of the normal menu items. Enjoy.

Zero stars. 0/10. No redeeming qualities. You would have a more satisfying time sleeping under a bridge, and you would likely have better maid service.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the experience you had during your stay. We strive to provide all guests with a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and we’re sorry to hear that we fell short in your case. Regarding housekeeping, we understand your frustration. Our current policy requires guests to request housekeeping services in advance to ensure we are meeting individual preferences while managing resources efficiently. We will certainly take your comments into consideration as we evaluate ways to improve this aspect of our service. We regret that you found your room to be in need of attention and that the noise from Fremont Street affected your stay. While the vibrant atmosphere of Fremont Street is one of the hotel’s draws, we understand that it may not be to everyone’s preference. We do offer quieter rooms in our other towers that may be a better fit for those who prefer less noise. As for dining, we are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your experience at Hash House or the other food options. We’ll be sure to pass your comments along to the team for review. We truly value your feedback and will continue working to improve the guest experience. If you’d like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Thank you again for your review, and we hope you’ll reconsider staying with us in the future.

Arrived 9:30 pm and got a fast check in with a perfect room. We chose the Luxe Room which is remodeled and also wanted one opposite Fremont St. to keep the noise down. Excellent room in the N. Tower. The hotel was just right for us. There are about a half dozen restaurants if you include the Coffee Bar and Pink Box donuts. The danish at the coffee bar were good, but I would rate the experience and coffee maybe a 6 or 7 out of ten. One morning the machine to make anything but plain coffee did not work and to be honest jumping over to Pink Box was a better choice. Their coffee was a little better and service a little better too. Pink Box is connected to the hotel. Ate at the Rice restaurant one night and I'd rate it about the same. Not bad, but not great and had limited drink choices.

The best place to eat far and away is Hash House a GoGo. We ate breakfast there twice and it was excellent. The Carousel bar outside has a neat vibe too. So overall good eating but 10 stars for Pink Box Donuts and Hash House.

Our room was great. It had perfect black out curtains so even at 9 am you didn't know it was daylight. :) It was just as described on the Plaza website.

One thing where Plaza underdelivered was the Reward Program. We were supposed to get 25-$50 of slot play and $10 of match play if we hit a point minimum 24 hours after joining. Well I joined from home 72 hours before we checked in so there was a hiccup there until we went into a long explanation of when we joined as we did meet the 24 hour rules. It did not turn to an argument, but I began to wonder if it would. When I first went to the Reward desk it was closed even the posted hours showed it was to be open. Finally the person helping me agreed. We loaded our slot play on to the card, but it still did not work properly in a machine. It was hours later before we tried. There was no mention of how to collect the match play. We finally gave up on getting this offer.

Overall we had a great time at the Plaza and I would say you get a good experience for the money. I would stay again if staying Downtown.

I booked through booking.com and was specific about a non smoking room. Upon check in, there were no non-smoking rooms left available however, I could 'upgrade' to a non smoking room for $30USD extra on top of room rate through booking.com which said my resort fee was included but wasn't and then an additional $30. Fine, we got the upgraded room. However it was situated on the 4th floor facing Freemont. Not a big deal if you're a heavy sleeper and for the most part I was but I would have preferred a higher floor to avoid the noise. That was coupled with roof construction above the steakhouse which was right outside our window. So from 2am until 8am it was quiet but otherwise, it was booming with bass or jackhammers. Having to deal with both was a drag. The restaurant was delicious and for the most part, the staff were great. The cleaning staff came around before we woke up most mornings so we had to beg for toilet paper and towels after we woke up. Given all that, I'd still stay there again for the right price...just not at the prices I paid recently. Bed was comfy and room was clean and spacious.

Due to plane delays and changed flight plans, I had a couple of free nights in Las Vegas that I had to pay for rather than being sponsored for. I thought it would be a great time to stay downtown adjacent to Fremont Street.

I chose the Plaza since it's adjacent to, but not right on, Fremont Street. It was a great choice. While the hotel is not fancy like the hotels on the south end of the Strip, it may be the cleanest and well-kept hotel I've ever stayed in, in Vegas. It is obvious to me that the staff is committed to keeping this property in good shape.

Just cross the street to walk down Fremont while avoiding the noise from the bandstands if you want to go to sleep before 2am Sunday-Thursday and 4am Friday-Saturday.

This is not a great hotel for business travelers, as my junior suite did not have a desk to work at. That was my only disappointment in the venue.

This is a reasonably priced and very clean downtown hotel.

I hope you as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Hotel is located on Main Street just far enough away from the experience that you are not disturbed at night. The resort fee is extortionate and for a two week stay we were charged $711 on top of what we paid to our holiday company. This included $11 a day to secure a smoking room. They no longer clean rooms daily and you must give 24 hrs notice to get your room cleaned. We do not drive or use the gym so we are paying $711 for WiFi. I get better WiFi at the 4 queens and we don’t stay there.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad you found our location to be a peaceful retreat from the Fremont Experience, but we sincerely apologize for your dissatisfaction with the resort fee structure. We understand how frustrating it can be when additional charges feel excessive, especially when they don’t align with your usage. We acknowledge your concerns regarding daily cleaning services and the notice required for housekeeping. This policy is in place to accommodate all guests while ensuring our staff can maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, but we appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services. The hotel is definitely old and in need of renovation.
Friendly staff and good general cleaning.
Attention, it is not like in Italy! If you want them to come and clean your room and change the linen (sheets, towels) you have to ask for it and pay a supplement

Charged resort fees without any resort accommodations, had three rooms with two queen sized beds and did not have enough towels and no washcloths. When asking for some person at front desk was rude and mumbling under breath. In 5 days of staying there our rooms got cleaned once, trash taken out once and towels replaced once and still didn’t provide enough after mentioning it, receptionist stated “ they must have ran out” and never tried asking housekeeping. We had to re use towels for 4 days.
