No it's not in the league of the Wynn or Caesars and it doesn't pretend to be. The enormous advantage of The Orleans is the price of the rooms as compared to the condition, comfort, and spaciousness. The rooms are much larger than you would expect for the money, and they are supremely clean, in great shape, whisper quiet, have free Wifi with significant bandwidth, and feature wonderful distance views. Featuring a huge arena, a bowling alley and a cinema all in the same complex allows you to have a very low priced vacation where you don't really have to leave the hotel at all!
The Super Bowl parties are great fun. Because there are hundreds of options to bet, someone is eaither cheering or cursing every few minutes over the fate of their tickets.
My room was on the 11th floor and I had a view of the pool area. The rooms are larger than most hotels and have a large bathroom with a tub/shower, a large counter, hangers for clothes and shelves to store items.
There is a sitting area next to the bed with a coach and table and the bedding is very comfortable.
The buffet is greatly improved since they remodeled it. For a $20 dinner it is well worth it. I also ate at Big Al’s oyster bar. The jambalaya pasta was enough for 2 meals and had plenty of shrimp, chicken and sausage with just enough spice without over-doing it.
I did well in the casino and the cocktail service is better than any strip resort casino. Never had to wait for service and the waitresses were very friendly and willing to chat if they had time.
Since it was cool outside, I also took in a movie that is on premises and also bowled a few games to kill some time.
The Orleans is not Bellagio or Wynn but it is a clean, safe and comfortable place to stay with much better casino odds and you can get free rooms for far less play. I can’t wait for my next visit.
On the casino floor there is an expanded non smoking area, new carpeting throughout and always adding the newest slot machines. There is always new promotions being offered for the guests making it an exciting casino to visit and play. Along with the promotions there is a new B Connected player reward making it easier to earn tier points.
With all the ever changes made over a period of time the guests will find the staff the same friendly and courteous personnel in every department.
I brought family in October and they were impressed with The Orleans and found a lot of the changes I mentioned that they wanted to return in Dec. I brought them back and they enjoyed The Orleans even more with holiday festivities.
The Orleans has always been a top destination for my family. Now it is a destination for more family and friends and should be a destination for Las Vegas visitors.
Anyway, they have a bowling and movie theater on site. Which is great if you are a compulsive gambler with tweens. Those with small children might want to avoid as there are scary clowns and alligators in the casino. Also, a sizable performance space; if you want to see your favorite faded acts of the past, no need to stay elsewhere.
Rooms were recently refurbished, but still had old electrical fixtures so plugs were falling out all over the place. Our bathroom, which was fine otherwise, had a leaky window. Linens weren't perfect, but the I liked the mattresses.
The front desk was nice and you can get a $10 food credit if you wave maid service. (I was a bit shocked by some of the prices at the cafe, so yeah. The food court by contrast was cheap.)
Boyd has nixed the bugle playing alligator, but if you look carefully and you might see some ghost ones around.
There is ample free Truck parking for guests with security on site! Room rates are more affordable than idleing and hangin out at any of the local truck stops!
And the accommodations are 100% BETTER! 15 South X Tropicana west to Arville R past the front of the hotel-
Follow signs to truck parking!
Happy trails....
The Casino floor was busy but not over crowded. Plenty of games to play and spaces to roam. Lots of Plexiglass screens, at the Be Connected Clun desk, the bar areas and near games. It was nice to see. Wipes and gel everywhere. I did miss the live music they have had in the past but overall it was a great place. Food was available which was nice. We will be back in August! Thank you for opening and being safe. Also, thank you for the $1680 jackpot on Video Keno!!!
There is a window in the bathroom that allows light into the room so plan to close the bathroom door if you like it dark.
I read reviews about the beds being comfortable, but they were average at best and the sheets are like paper so very time you move it makes lots of noises.
Lastly the AC unit in the room is so loud. It kept us up all night when it would turn on and off.
Hoping things get better when we hit the casino floor.
