Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino offers a mixed bag for visitors, according to reviews. Guests appreciate its proximity to Allegiant Stadium and the airport, yet some find its location a bit removed from the Strip's heart. Cleanliness and room opinions vary, with both commendations for space and concerns over upkeep. Noise issues are a common complaint, from vent whistles to outside disturbances. The vibrant pool area wins points, but the overall experience is marred by service lapses and additional charges that detract from its value.

Third time staying at Mandalay Bay in the past year...

Mandalay Bay is a great place to stay!!! It's a great property that is kept clean, well maintained, and has an excellent staff.! There are a variety of restaurants and I have yet to have anything but good food and service in any of them.

So, a couple of things...

On the plus side:

1) The place is bigger than I thought (even after multiple stays).

If you walk back towards the convention center and Shark Reef, there is a second Starbucks (first one is by the entrance from MB Shops and Allegiant Stadium). Then keep going. Go down the walkway with a panoramic view of the massive Mandalay Beach (impressive). There is a food court (Johnny Rocket's, Subway, NY style pizza place, Asian style food place, a health food place, etc...) Keep going. Another Starbucks. And finally, the Shark Reef. There is a lot more than I was previously aware of. And, unlike MB proper, the Convention Center is brightly lit. Again, I have stayed here several times before and never knew all this existed.

2) The Parking Garage.

Every other casino of this size on the strip requires a long winding trek from the parking garage to the the lobby and then the elevators to your room. At MB, the parking garage has escalators strategically located to feed directly to the casino entrance. Yes, it is still a walk to get to the lobby, but the elevators are very convenient to the lobby. (FYI, the Delano ,now the W, is the benchmark to parking garage convenience at a large casino on The Strip.)

On the downside...

1) Fitness Considerations. For those of you who like to work out... the cardio center is disappointing. Only about 15 machines (trying to remember... four treadmills, six cross-trainers and five bikes??? There weren't very many and at least two did not work. ). No weight related machines. A single rack of dumbbells. A couple benches (I think?). No matts. No stretching area. Just not much. The Cardio Center is about half the size of the fitness center at the attached Delano (now the W) and not nearly as nice. And it is probably less than a quarter (maybe a tenth) the size of the Bellagio Fitness Center and not nearly as nice. But, to be fair, the Bellagio fitness center is absolutely amazing even by Las Vegas over-the-top standards...

2) Location... I wish this property was more central to MGM properties instead of on the very south end, making everything else MGM and beyond more convenient. However, this inconvenience by location is also what allowed room for the Mandalay Bay Beach (an amazing place!) possible and what enabled the layout of the very convenient garage possible. So, there is good justification for the location.

Personally, I will continue to stay at the Mandalay Bay. It is an amazing place! And I highly recommend it.

We recently stayed at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino as a group of four. While there were some positives to our stay, the overall experience left us feeling underwhelmed, especially considering the high costs.

Positives:
The hotel itself is visually stunning, with a great location that provides easy access to many attractions on the Las Vegas Strip. The pools and amenities are impressive, offering a resort-like atmosphere that families and groups can enjoy. The staff, especially the head housekeeper who helped us during a challenging situation with our room key, were kind and professional, going above and beyond to assist us.

Negatives:
Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt chaotic—busy, noisy, and confusing to navigate. Everything came with a price tag, which was overwhelming as we were traveling on a budget. It seemed like every turn involved spending more money, from overpriced snacks and drinks to the ridiculous policy of charging to use the fridge.

The room itself was clean but had an unpleasant odor. The minibar setup was inconvenient, especially with children, as we had to constantly warn them not to touch the overpriced items on the counter. The lack of basic amenities, such as complimentary coffee or fridge access, added to the frustration.

We also tried using the MGM app to streamline our check-in process, but it was more trouble than it was worth. The digital room key repeatedly failed, leaving us embarrassed in the elevator and locked out of our room several times. Thankfully, the head housekeeper verified our identity and helped us into our room, but this issue forced us to abandon the app and stick with physical room keys to avoid further hassle.

Additionally, there was little information provided about the MGM Rewards program, and the process of adding rewards to the app seemed overly complicated. This lack of clarity discouraged us from using the program altogether.

Suggestions for Improvement:
• Provide clearer communication about the MGM Rewards program and ensure it is easy to use.
• Improve the reliability of the MGM app and digital keys to avoid issues with accessing rooms and floors.
• Include basic amenities such as complimentary coffee and functional fridge access.
• Focus on making the hotel more budget-friendly and family-friendly by offering more affordable options for snacks and drinks.

Conclusion:
While the hotel offers a beautiful atmosphere and excellent location, the high costs, noisy environment, and frustrating policies make it hard to justify staying here again. I’d recommend Mandalay Bay to those with a higher budget who can take full advantage of its luxury offerings. For families or budget-conscious travelers, there are likely better options elsewhere.

Mandalay Bay is pretty decent for families. There's an element of Vegas I protect my child from. This was easily accomplished at Mandalay Bay. The cigarette smoke was low, and the guests at the casino were reasonably dressed with reasonable behavior (whew, no hey mom why is that lady...). While there are only roughly 19 pools open in winter, Mandalay has the nicest pool one. The pool is shallow enough for small children, and there's a great hot tub pool with a bar for adults. The rooms are a little small because 1/3 of the space is bathroom, making the bed situation tricky. The snacks are a problem. You have no fridge access, no microwave, and the snacks on the cabinet are pressure activated. Pick up a snack, or open the fridge for more than 30 seconds you get charged. The coffee isn't included with the room.

The staff is awesome though, and the amenities are otherwise really nice.

My Mandalay experience was great alI the way around except for the HouseKeeping phone system. I called housekeeping 10times from my room phone. After pressing the buttons for housekeeping you are now forever listening to the wait music. I waited over 30 mins before giving up I just left the room with the wait music/message still on. I called again when I came back with the same results. I did this on and off with no luck no answer. It was quite frustrating really.  The housekeeping staff  and service is good just no one answers that line. On the other hand the Bell desk scan system is simple & efficient but the staff are a bit short and not very welcoming or friendly. Also depending on what activities you have planned the Mandalay location might not be the most convenient. They do have the best pools on the strip. We did go to Sebreeze Cafe, House of Blues and theShark Reef while we were there. Seabreeze has great ambiance food could be better. House of Blues have great ambience staff and food was fantastic. Shark Reef simply is not worth the price. It is like going to the the Bellagio's Conservatory and paying $29 to get in ( I know Bellagio's Conservatory is FREE, exactly my point) Please DO NOT waste your money. NOT worth a dime to go. There is a tram from the Mandalay to Luxor to Excalibur that made the location bearable but barely. I might not complain so much if the Market in the Lobby does not charge exorbitant prices.

Soft bed, spacious bathroom with a soaking tub...a high end hotel for a medium price, primarily because it is the most southerly located property on the strip. We rent a car so it is not a problem and generally eat off strip. We normally get comp rooms at the Luxor but when we were offered 2 nights free at Mandalay we decided to try and it was well worth it.

I have stayed there multiple times in the past and it was always nice but this time I really felt like they took advantage of me.
1. I paid extra for the VIP lounge and it was a huge disappointment. $75.00 a day gave me access to the check in lounge not the VIP lounge. I have been staying at the Venetian and when you pay extra for the VIP lounge access you get that with small bites and cocktails!
2. I felt taken advantage of that to sit at the pool in 103 degree weather would require me to pay $150.00 per lounge chair and $150.00 per umbrella! For our group of 4 that's $600.00, and then $30.00 drinks at the pool!!! I paid more to sit at the pool then I paid for my room......

3. Breakfast at the Delano was a huge disappointment, it use to be a nice little upscale place to eat and now it is run like McDonalds and tastes like it too.

Overall it felt run down and a bad value. So disappointed!

Along with the bad experience of the hotel. It was 7am and we needed towels in the room and we called housekeeping and let them know we needed the right away. After 30 minutes and no towels I ended up at the front desk and the woman told me she was too busy to help me and told me I had to go back to my room and sit and wait and was very rude. So we did not get showers before we left .......

I will preface this is long- 1 out of 5 stars.

The stay was not great. I stayed 4 nights in early January for roughly 1,300$ for the room. I booked through Amex and recieved a room upgrade of a strip view King Bed room with a soaking tub. The room on the surface looked nice but the chairs within were low quality, the shower head had build up on it and the lamps with outlet ports did not work. The film on the window gave the room a blue tint, a nice gimmic at first but becomes annoying because there are no ceiling lights only lamps which do not properly light your room, so you are left with feeling like your in a fish bowl. We also used the soaking tub twice and room keeping failed to give it at least a quick wipe down.

I feel like MGM is anti-consumer. You cannot even use the fridge in your room without getting a 50$ service charge. The snack bar is sensor activated so you have a fear if anything is slightly moved you will be charged. Im sure MGM loves to keep their hotels tap water tasting metalic so you get the fiji water that will cost you your left kidney from the snack bar.

The staff are clueless and have to ask manager for every little decision, or refer you to someone who knows what you want and even that person doesnt know the answer. Why have a human employee who is useless when you can have a kiosk, I like human staff but they exist to do things a kiosk cant so why give them no authority to assist guests.

For example a simple question.
:What are the hours of the pool and is the bar open?
-I was refered to 3 different employees and they said the bar was open and it was not. It was also a hell of a walk to the only open pool.

I also feel like this hotel placement on the strip is awful. They have a tram that can take you as far as New York, New York, otherwise youll be ubering everywhere. In retro-spec should have gotten a rental car, but maybe the hotel would have over charged for you to park so it would be pointless.

Its vegas and you we love to gamble right? Well the mandalay lacks fair roulette tables. Anything above single 0 roulette is a scam. The Bellagio had single 0 roullete with the same minums. Blows my mind the Mandalay a much lower quality hotel spits in the face of its players. So I couldnt play a more fair odds game of my favorite table game.

This was my first vega vacation and will most likely be my last. It is over-rated and anti-consumer at every step. The room, and flight may seem reasonable but a hand is in your wallet at every turn. Go on a cruise or go to cancun will cost the same and most likely have a more relaxing trip, with honest bussiness practices.

Situated at the southern end of the strip, it has a monorail that enables you to get to Excalibur and alternate transport to elsewhere or a walk along the strip. Rooms were decent size and uring offpeak were of good value. However, we could not enjoy the pool facilities in full as a major part of this was closed during winter even though it was still early part of winter. Another thing that irks me is the fact that we were charge for consuming something from the titbits in the room when this was untrue. They could have checked the inventory for this but would not. They claimed to have a notice in the room that state that any items moved from their original location would be considered consumed and charge to the room. How are we to know who moved them. It could be accidentally moved during housekeeping for all we know. That said, the stay otherwise was comfortable and uneventful.

We stayed at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and when my wife and daughter went in, they were surprised at the size of the room. The room is definitely larger than the rooms we have stayed at for other regular hotels. We got a good view of the runway which is what my son wanted and the person at check-in was helpful in correcting my mistake when I booked a Las Vegas Strip view. We were still able to see the Strip and get a view of the airport so hats off to our check-in lady.

The bathrooms were very big and the water pressure in the shower was great. You don't have to turn the shower on too much and you will get pretty hot water.

The only drawbacks I have are that the toilets flush pretty loudly and are quite strong. Also the snacks next to the TV are not free and are motion sensitive so do not touch them unless you plan to buy it. Also don't put any personal things in the refrigerator or you may be charged for it. There are beverages already there and they cost money.

We were checked into a room on the 60th floor and there was a loud whistling noise coming out of the vent in the bathroom and dried urine spots on the toilet seat. We called down to ask to have the room changed. We were told the hotel was full and that was not possible. Basically "too bad".
We went down to the front desk and a young lady was very understanding and changed our room and gave us a $250 spa credit which on checkout was reduced to $150. Again, sorry we won't honor what the other Mandalay person promised.
When we went back up to our original room, the head housekeeper and a room attendant came up and cleaned the bathroom and verified the condition we complained about.
Our new assigned room had a significant amount of hair in the shower drain. How does that happen if your head housekeeper is checking rooms? That is one of the prime areas to check for room condition cleanlinest. Obviously, it was never checked.
We stay over 100 nights year in hotels in the Marriott system and have the Ambassador status. We are very experienced in hotel processes. This was a failure in so many system aspects. We moved to the Vdara later and had a wonderful experience. You failed.

I don’t think they have self-serve laundry facilities. I think you have to use their laundering service and they pick up a bag of laundering items and charge it to your room per item and then they drop it off.
