We were able to check in early to our suite which was tastefully done, spotless and very quiet at night. The bed and linens were top notch and the Keurig in the room was greatly appreciated. Will stay again.

I have been coming here for around 20 years and had a few issues that have recently surfaced that I did not find acceptable. The fact that they do not have a bell desk and you can not have a carry on bag at the bar is a big issue for himself. My fitness center is a couple of blocks...

Have stayed here for many years and was always satisfied so it pains me to give a bad review. The have changed their policy so now if you want 2 beds it's an extra $30 per night so we stuck with 1 bed no big deal. Where it went south was we were given the choice of 2 noisy rooms...

I booked into the Golden Gate a few months prior to my trip using the GG website. Several other 3rd party sites offered better deals by a few dollars but I didn’t want any hassles at registration so I figured the GG website was the best option. I was surprised when I got to the registration desk on a Sunday...

I booked this room for one night as a comp from the Golden Gate from an earlier trip. I loved the casino and the dancers and the food. I had to get a room with two beds. That put me facing Fremont Street. The band outside finally quit playing at 3:00 am. The stage was right outside my room. But...

We usually stay at the Golden Nugget when we're downtown, but this time we got a suite at the Golden Gate, which was comped. The Golden Gate is a small hotel by Vegas standards--they call it a "boutique hotel"--which you will appreciate if you go to one of those places where you have to walk ten minutes to find your...

I cannot say enough about this friendly and quaint hotel. My room was so comfortable, and that bed!!!!! The ambience is amazing, with all the vintage left in place. I found it to be a perfect place. The desk had warned me about a loud band at night and that it would be noisy. I brought earplugs, but I never...

Booked 4 nights here, on the first night we had to pay to upgrade our room because it was so small, the bathroom was even smaller, when you opened the bathroom door not even half way it hit the toilet! Spent an extra $35.00 a night to "upgrade" our room, well this room was even smaller than the first but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Accurately billed as Las Vegas' "Most Historic Hotel," the Golden Gate has stood the test of time and then some. Since opening as the Hotel Nevada in 1906, this modest and cozy corner establishment has stood placidly at One Fremont Street while the town -- and the world -- changed around it. Most notably, the Fremont Street Experience was built right outside its door. Very little has changed to compromise the hotel's old school charm in the intervening years, although the Golden Gate has made improvements and modernized. The hotel remains proudly dwarfed by its neighbors, at just 106 rooms. The rooms themselves, on the other hand, have been updated and include modern amenities like flat screen televisions and iHome clock radios. The casino is just as active as opening day -- and just as intimate -- although now its boasts Dealer Dancers from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly. Its shrimp cocktail -- widely acknowledged as the first ever served in Las Vegas -- is as popular as the day it was introduced. Even as Las Vegas builds toward the heavens, the Golden Gate keeps close to the ground, rooted in its rich and wildly successful history. ... more   less
