We had a great time at our the Rio. Even though Voodoo was closed it was still a good time! The Rio is understaffed, (time of year and repercussions from covid but hey all casinos in Vegas are having the same issues), BUT the employees make up for it big time! Special shout out to staff at the Shutters bar! What a lovely friendly great group of bartenders and servers. . Thanks so much to Lilly, Kenny, Jaycee, Jennia Santiago, MATT, and EDUARDO DAVID! You all DESERVE a raise! You made our 5 days special. Brian and Karen say thank you Rio! See y’all next year!

I stayed here for a convention in August, and had really been looking forward to my stay. I booked a suite with a Strip View (paid a premium) and was excited to sign up for an upgraded Strip View Room. When I arrived at the property, I was assigned a room with no view. When I inquired at the front desk, I was told that I'd received a credit. When I checked out, I was told there was no credit, and that I had been charged for an upgrade. What I was upgraded to, was never communicated. Absolutely horrible service. I will NEVER stay here again. If you're going to the Rio for a convention, stay at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino right across the street. I had stayed there the prior two years without any problem and can highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Room is very dated. Lamp shades dirty, ripped carpet and wallpaper coming off wall. Elevators dirty. My husband asked it there was updated rooms available and was told we were in an updated room. Would not stay here again. This hotel should be ashamed at the condition of this place. Only positive thing I can say is the bed was comfortable.

We arrived about 3:30 PM on a Tuesday with checkout very early Thursday morning. There were about seven people in line to check in. We waited at least 20-25 minutes to reach a check-in agent at the front desk. We definitely felt this was a longer wait than warranted. When we finished our process there was a line twice the size as when we started. (We were glad we got there a little early.) We had no complaint about the process and CSR was polite and helpful. The room was tidy and large. The bath tub had some black mold in the corner and the soap ledge had soap residue. If you have questions or requests you must phone message to contact the concierge. Replies were relatively quick but it seemed very weird. We asked for a couple of pillows to accompany the three very small ones on our king size bed. We were told additional pillows were not available. We asked again the next day and received two larger pillows. We also asked to borrow a cork screw for our wine, but told to buy one in the gift shop. At 7 AM the first morning there was a loud noise below my window. I could not tell what caused the noise but did not occur the next morning. What makes me most angry is the $30 per day resort fee collected. I chose this hotel because I wanted to enjoy the pool. I later found that the pool was not open Monday through Wednesday. Also several of the restaurants must operate the on the same schedule. Don't expect much from this place Monday through Wednesday. I want my resort fees returned! That's a ripoff in my opinion. Self parking was easy and reasonably convenient. I tried to use their online express checkout but the site had technical problems for most of the day. I hope I'm not charged for an extra night since I dropped my keys in a key box about 4 AM.

Check in was fine, but the room was a disappointment as it was run down and sorely in need of an update. Many shops and restaurants were not open. There was no restaurant open for a 7 am breakfast option. My one simple request for an extra pillow went unmet. Happy to find the room was cleaned after the first night. Check out went smooth. Front desk staff friendly. Sad to see this once great hotel in this shape.
