Rio just needs to be torn down, revamped, or rooms redone. Firstly, we waited in line for over 2 hrs to get checked in. There were only 2 people staffed at the front desk and every kiosk was out of order. And everyday thereafter, the check-in line was a minimum of 100 people deep anytime you walked through the casino. Secondly, the rooms are not only old and outdated, but the furnishings and walls are beat up, chipped, scraped and unsightly. The faucets didn’t operate correctly and the bathroom shower needed a thorough cleaning or updating altogether. (see pics) Thirdly, all phone calls to the front desk are forwarded to a 3rd party who cannot answer questions and or just reads a script that is never any help for what you need. We called for extra blankets one night and they never came. We also observed a customer come to the front desk to ask for bed sheets. Prices were severely inflated. I found the same room I have on ID90 for the same date for $21, yet I paid $175 per night. In addition, the front desks will charge you for EVERYTHING, that is considered a basic courtesy at other hotels…like a late check out…which should not have been an issue seeing that we got into our room after 4am. This stay was very disappointing and I’ll NEVER again do this hotel. Nor will I recommend it to anyone. Just awful.

I like the entertainment options provided. Very clean rooms. Variety of shops and places to eat or just hang out. I like the convenience of kiosks to check in and out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Taxis or ride share available.

Ugh. Did not feel safe or clean!! You may get a cheap hotel room- but they have raised the prices on snack bars and restaurants to a point of not being able to afford! When they charge you $9.50 for a water in the gift shop…. Ridiculous!!! Just now than when most taxi drivers in Ubers are questioning why you’re going there …that’s a sign!!!

This has to be the most outdated hotel/casino in Las Vegas. Rooms are spacious, but furnishings are from the 70s, & the room had that old musty smell. Extremely uncomfortable bed & unclean shower. Don't get me started on the lack of amenities.

The Rio had clean, very large rooms. Had a separate vanity with sink outside of the bathroom that had a bench to do hair and makeup. Had couch and desk. Windows from floor to ceiling. The drawbacks were it was dated decor but the Hilton is renovating soon. They had the very small pillows. Was off the beat and path of things.

This may have been a good place to stay in years past but it is disgusting now. Deferred maintenance, dirty, very limited restaurants open etc. called and asked for two additional pillows as there was only two little pillows and they said they were out. Also everywhere smells like an ashtray.

The hotel was nice. The Cleanliness and Housekeeping were atrocious. We stay 3 nights. My daughter and her husband upon check in noticed a cockroach after several minutes they booked her into a second room where they found an unidentified bug flying around. The third was a charm, no bugs, but on the second day their Air Conditioner broke and it took them quite some time to remedy the situation. As for my experience, after the first night housekeeping knocked on the door and I asked them to return in 1 hour. Unfortunately for us she must not have understood 1 hour because she was a no show. The next day we got back from our excursion and lunch at quarter after 2 in the afternoon. My room still wasn't clean and I wanted to take a nap. So I went to front desk to complain and the fellow asked me if I needed it done right now, I said yes 45 minutes later it was cleaned. The next day we checked out. Can not recommend this hotel.

They tried to nickel n dime me for $22 for an "early" check-in on a dead Tuesday afternoon. This is horrendous customer service and I will never come back to this property (this was my first time trying it out). Apparently this review needs to be at least 200 characters so here it is

We stayed in the Rio for 5 nights and fought off bed bugs. Upon arrival at home the suitcases and most of our unworn clothes had bed begs and now we are fighting off those that we carried back at home. The worst experience I have had at a hotel in Las Vegas. The covid shutdown has proven to be the worst thing for this property. It is clear that nothing was maintained.

Not a lot of difference between staying at a crack house in Compton then there is staying here. The entire place wreaks of marijuana and urine. We went to spend time with our son who is in the military. If you get up and leave your room towards the casino, there are homeless people who are just sitting propped up against the walls all over. We stayed on the 15th floor and we had homeless people walking our hallways asking guests for money as they were leaving their rooms. I got attacked by a dog thanksgiving morning walking thru the casino to go check on my truck, and nobody at the hotel cared at all. This is easily the worst place I've ever stayed at, and I've been in over 40 different countries. THE HOTEL DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR GUESTS OR THEIR EXPERIENCE. You will absolutely regret staying here, unless being surrounded by drug riddled people is your idea of a vacation. The rooms are not clean, or even uniform. BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS. They ran out of pillows so you may get one or you may not.
