Hotel's Favourite
I stayed at this property this past weekend for the first time. I did choose this location for the much lower pricing that was available so I did not have much expectations. I had just recently stayed downtown (Fremont street), so I was not expecting a lot. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Checking was outstanding and the the property is really nice. The room is, well, it’s a room, not why I was going. The casino floor and everyone employed at the Strat are the reason to come. Every, and I mean every, dealer, waitstaff, bartender and floor manager were completely AWESOME! Tip: get a players card (takes about a minute) and start to experience the true feeling of the what Vegas is suppose to be. I spent many hours on the casino floor, they had plenty of table options, very knowledgeable staff to assist and it was a great time. I wish I could remember each persons name to recognize, but alas I can’t. I highly recommend staying or playing at the Strat! I ate at the 24 hour diner both days for breakfast. Elliot at the bar near the table games is awesome! I even forgot my room key a couple of times and never had any issues getting them replaced. If you take a ride share from the airport you do dropped off in the back of the hotel so it is a walk to checkin. I would definitely come back!

Me and my girlfriend came to Las Vegas to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We decided to stay here at The Strat because the rates were very low. We stayed in a Boulevard Suite for 2 nights. Our trip in Las Vegas was a wonderful time and definitely an anniversary worth remembering. However, if there was ever a negative experience during our trip, it likely occurred here at The Strat. For starters, let's talk about our room. The size was decent, and there was a large bath tub along with the shower. The view was somewhat mediocre (it faced towards the strip but was obscured by the casino roof), but for the price we paid, the room would have been fine. However, issues began within moments of our arrival. For starters, there was a HUGE burn stain that traveled up the wall, onto the couch next to it, and onto the ceiling. Me and my girlfriend had no idea what could have caused it, or how the housekeeping team missed it, but we were willing to go along for now. Then, my girlfriend wanted to take a shower, but the shower door refused to close once she opened it. We tried holding it up to the magnetic strip, pushing it inward, etc., but it would not close. That was the point where we called the front desk to discuss the problems so far. They notated that the burn mark was there when we came, and they sent a technician up to fix the door, who was only able to fix it temporarily and said he'd only be able to truly fix it with us out of the room for a while. Another issue that rose on our stay was that the bath tub was stained purple, again caused by something before we arrived. It may have been from a bath bomb or something, but it was mind boggling that we both noticed it rather than the housekeeping team. Lastly, the AC unit was very loud at times. It worked fine, but randomly, there would be a loud bang sound that almost sounded like a person fell into it. It happened randomly and scared us when it occurred in the late night. The service we received during our stay varied. Sometimes we spoke to an agent who cared and showed concern for our problems. Other times, we spoke to someone who had no interest in customer service. The front desk agent who checked us in, for example, was barely engaging or welcoming, if at all. They weren't off-putting by any means, but it truly makes a difference when a staff member is attentive and hospitable. Also, not to rant too much about this, but we asked if we could have a corkscrew and 2 glasses brought up to our room, and the agent I spoke to said they don't carry any because they didn't offer room service. I worked in a hotel for nearly 3 years that was 10 times smaller than The Strat and also didn't have room service, and yet a corkscrew and 2 glasses was a perfectly acceptable request to make. So we ended up having to spend over $30 at the hotel gift shop because they had the items. Again, I don't wish to rant about this, but the fact that I had to go to a gift shop and buy items most basic hotels can send up for free, at a popular Las Vegas resort, speaks volumes. At this point, I would have been fine giving the resort a 1 out of 5 score. As far as other parts of the resort go, the casino was fine but we did not gamble here so we had no opinion. We didn't use the valet or bellman service. The TVs in the room have a small list of channels, but they had Netflix downloaded on them so it balanced out. There really wasn't much that could redeem The Strat. However, one piece changed that. The SkyPod at The Strat is an excellent addition and honestly makes up for some of the really lacking parts of our stay. Me and my girlfriend were at a loss of words when we went out to the outdoor observation deck, and we got to see all of Las Vegas lit up at night from the viewpoint. It was mesmerizing. We went to the inside observation deck, and we were able to walk around the entire area and see all of Las Vegas and the surrounding city areas. We would've loved to try the Top of the World restaurant, but weren't able to afford it this time around. And as much as we would love to try the thrill rides at the top of The Strat, my girlfriend and I aren't the bravest souls, so we didn't engage that. The staff at the top of the building, and even in the elevators going up and down, were all kind and lovely to us. The SkyPod is honestly the best part of the resort and absolutely caught us by surprise. Of course, you don't have to be a guest to come to the SkyPod, but it is discounted if you are a guest here. Overall, our visit to the Strat was incredibly poor. I am baffled at how many glaring issues went unnoticed by staff, such as the burn marks and shower door. The SkyPod is truly a diamond in the rough. This experience, thankfully, wasn't enough to ruin our wonderful trip to Las Vegas, but it very much was a sour note that I sadly cannot recommend to anyone. I can only speak highly for the SkyPod, and even then, I'd say just visit it and don't stay here exclusively for it.

This was my first trip to vegas, we had 5 ladies. I picked out The Strat as the price was right. We arrived after a long morning of travel from Toronto. Check in only took 10 minutes. We had rooms on the 11th floor, they were clean and spacious with fridge and coffee maker. Everything we needed was right there on the property. We gambled a lot, many small wins, we ate at The Strat cafe often, huge portions and was delicious and affordable. Starbucks on the main level was super convenient. We visited the sky pod. We were able to rent a scooter through the hotel. Gift shops were full of nice things to bring home to the family. Roger was super helpful. Staff was friendly all around. Taxis were always readily available. We ate at the ihop close by. Had a $5 breakfast across the street. Hopped the deuce bus and walked the strip, ate at Ocean one, loved it. Went to area 15 omega mart. The highlight was Fremont, easy to hop on the bus for a short ride to Fremont st from our hotel. We accidentally got off the bus too soon and had to walk 3 blocks to our hotel. We felt safe, yes we saw a few weirdos but just walked past them. My girlfriends love The Strat and we will be returning in February.

The room, amenities are decent. I reached late in the night at around 1:45 am and there was a long check in line. The automatic check in does not work. I was sleepy and had an engagement at 11 am. Not only did I stand in the line for 4 hours, I missed all the sleep and couldn't reach on time for the engagement. Took super long for each customer, I mean how long can check in take right ? Finally when my turn came after standing 4 hours at 6 am, i met with a super RUDE lady at the counter. I told her I would never book STRAT again, for which she said "That's fine". After all this they waived the resort fee for one day. At one point people started screaming and shouting after which they gave us some water. I heard a guy saying "Pay me a million$ to stay here next time, and I would not"

Pros: I have none at this time Cons: Unclean Hallways, rooms, walls with holes and stains, bugs on walls, cigarette and weed smells throughout the hall as well as room since room door doesn’t close properly allowing all the smells into the room itself.. Not to mention loud guests who want to start arguments with each other in the hallways waking people up. This is truly disgusting and unsatisfactory as well as the worst hotel I’ve stayed in while on Business in Vegas.. Will never stay here again..

Our room was nice and big and the cleaners where good. Don't use the restroom on the left when you come into the hotel. When I went to use it there where 4 ladies of the night or street people washing their hair and body, it was unreal. There are a-lot of homeless that hang around in casino. Not in the best part of Vegas, would not walk around outside at night. We did not have running water from 12am to 10am, I think they where doing work but, they never told us until are room got cleaned the next day.

I stayed here for my 50th a few years back and had a fabulous time so booked this hotel again ! Problems started immediately as room which was upgraded stunk like a drugs den and we were moved ! No resort tax taken off for that night may I hence! Next room was better but no coffee machine that we had upgraded previously! After two days of ringing we finally got one ! Room service we rang for a room clean and after a couple of days they eventually decided to turn up ! Next thing there was no water to have a shower so this very annoying and made sure my resort tax was reduced !!! If you love pot then this your heaven ! If you anti pot my advice is definitely do not book 📚 There was some great staff on floor but yes hotel has definitely changed! The bar at top of hotel is still stunning but now they charge you for the view! I have already told friends to cancel next March as before we loved this place but sadly Drugs rule this hotel .

After arriving at hotel . We queued for 2.5 hours .Which took us to 2.00 am . Only to be told the hotel was full and no rooms available.( we had booked and prepaid room in June) . We had our cases with us and were told to wait in the foyer. We were given a room at 0600 hrs. We paid a $50 room deposit which was cashed the same day , which still hasnt been returned to us , We are now having to dispute this with our credit card company as the Strat have not responded to our emails. Would never ever return or recommend a stay here.
