I stayed here for one night before moving to the strip. I picked this property primarily for price. The room was a little dated, but clean and better than I expected. The front desk staff were great and very helpful. If staying downtown again, I would stay here again.

This was our first stay at the El Cortez. I booked a Cabana Suite. Checking in was a breeze, parking is free in the garage if you are staying there. The lobby of the cabana suites was decorated nicely and the front desk gals were friendly. Our room was a bit shocking, it was painted green and decorated in a...

So to be clear it is an old style casino, not like the strip. It will be more gritty than a strip hotel and more gritty than the more and more polished Freemont street hotels. The free shows in the casino bar were ok (liked the Elvis impersonator though in large part to the crowd watching). If you want an...

My wife & I go to Vegas about 5-6 times a year but we usually stay at the Fremont because we get comped rooms. This past weekend Thurs Aug 21-Aug 23rd we once again stayed at the Fremont but for some reason I wanted to switch it up so I gambled at different casino's. When I got to El Cortez,...

I stayed here for one night only, having arranged to arrive in Las Vegas a day early before meeting my group on the Strip in order to beat the jet lag. The price was what led me to the hotel and I appreciated the somewhat historic and vintage nature of the establishment. It's a peculiar place, has an odd odor...

Hello, The El Cortez has tried to keep the old Vegas style feeling of the hotel and casino and still maintain a good quality of service, food and gaming options. We do have our slot figures verified by an outside company or we could not advertise looser slots. The Fremont East Entertainment District has various restaurants and night clubs to...

Based on the guest Information there are 4 stay-in options: The tower, the Pavilion, the Vintage, and the Cabana. I was assign to the Vintage, which is a part above the casino. I hope you get a better one. Because here is my review: Pros: Parking is free (some downtown hotels charge) Hotel has a better look on the inside...

Hello, Thank you for your recent review of your stay at the El Cortez. The Vintage rooms are the original rooms from 1941 and the Cabana Suites were opened in May of 2009. The amenities fee of $10.11 includes WiFi access, parking, fitness center, two bottles of water and unrestricted local phone calls. We do try to have the rooms...

Booked direct with the Hotel and got additional $15.00 per day breakfast credit and 4 nights costs less than $150.00. Hotel is old but the feeling of old Vegas and the oldies music gave it a great feeling for me, lots of 50+ crowd and the location was great because it was quiet and only a 2 block walk to...

My husband received a promotion in the mail for 3 free nights. We had never been downtown, so we thought we would try it. I was really nervous about the hotel. My cheap friend booked us at El Cortez for a second stay. The first stay was "barely acceptable" and I was told that this time, we would stay in the new tower. Well, starting with the welcoming pungent smoke stench as soon as you walk in, to the rude front desk attendant, to not honoring the reservation "non smoking room"...

We do apologize for the front desk being clerk being rude to you. We do not want any of our guests to be treated rudely. On line we do show the Cabana Deluxe rooms as nonsmoking only. The only smoking rooms we have are the rooms above the parking garage with the exterior entrance. Even though they are a motel style unit the rooms are still safe. We will be in touch with our housekeeping staff. Thank you
