A perfect stop in Caliente, NV after a long drive. Owner Nolan could not have been more courteous, accommodating, friendly, and informative. Room 204 - clean, fresh room; all amenities included. Excellent value at $60 per night in off season - November 15. Well located just up the street (two minute walk) from Knotty Pine Restaurant. The historic Caliente Railroad...

Compared to so many lodgings along eastern Nevada corridors, the Shady Motel is a welcome respite. Clean, large rooms, friendly staff and comfortable beds. This is the sort of establishment for travelers that want a neat and comfortable room for a reasonable rate.

Great value motel in good location. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and oatmeal available in reception in the morning. Friendly staff. Some huge trains go through the town during the night so take your ear plugs!

The ad photo shows the railroad depot. Shady Motel is across the street! A friendly staff, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, a refrig and microwave are nice to have. Room 302 was spacious, but the bathroom required someone with shower wand experience, so as not to wash the room! I heard the trains only once after 7:00 PM.

Chose this Motel from the reviews on TA, we were looking for a place to break our journey to Mammoth Lakes and this was just right. When we arrived the check in was efficient and friendly, the room on the ground floor was at the rear of the Motel which was furthest away from the road so quiet with ac,...

The name shady comes from the trees that once were on the grounds. The rooms are very clean the staff if very helpful even when if a late check in one time I stayed I felt bad as this is a family run place and I woke home up outta bed. The internet is fast the showers hot! Wonderful, painless...

The rooms are basic but very clean and acceptable. Free coffee but need to go to nearby restaurant for meals. Recommend the Brandin Iron for best restaurant in town (note their hours are 8 to 7). The staff was friendly. Best hotel in this small town.

This is a very nice small town hotel. The doors to the rooms take an actual key, I hadn't seen one of those in a long time. My room was very clean and was good sized for the price and given that it is located in a small town. You aren't going to find a "luxury" hotel in Caliente, but...

We hadn't made a reservation and just showed up around 7pm. The man was kind enough to offer us the last room available which hasn't been updated at all. It is at the back of the motel and was one of the original rooms. It was fine though - we were tired and just wanted a bite to eat (The...

Stayed here for one night on the way to Las Vegas. No, there isn't a gym or a bar etc but who needs them when all you want to do is chill out, watch a bit of TV and go to sleep! The room had a fridge and a microwave - there is a small supermarket less than a 10...

“Rooms that start with 400 are in the remodeled section. Low digits are set back from the road. #402 is upstairs, #401 down.”

“Try to get a room as far away from the tracks as possible. Only five doors down won't be completely quiet, but it'll be better than the rooms next to the highway and tracks. Also - choose an upstairs room if you're bothered by hearing people stomping around in the morning in the upstairs unit. But please be courteous and tread lightly. The fridges in the rooms aren't all the same. Some are little cubes and some are larger. If you need fridge space, check the room out before checking in.”
