We enjoyed our stay here so much the first night we were in Newfoundland, that we stayed here again on our way back to the mainland. It's an easy drive to, and from, the ferry. Clean and comfortable lodging. The best part of the inn - and one of the very best experiences on our whole trip - was spending... More

An easy trip from the ferry from Port Aux Basque and surprisingly easy to find. Gerald was an easy host and made a good breakfast the following morning. Our room was upstairs and small but with a nice bathroom. On our way back to the ferry, after spending two weeks in Newfoundland, we received a message that our ferry was... More

Gerald was a perfect host..we enjoyed our stay and will stay here again if we find ourselves in NL in the future. His B&B is situated on the lake...beautiful view. I loved the ramp..easy to bring in our suitcase and ample parking beside it.

It was easy for us to find this B&B after we got off the ferry in Port aux Basque. Gerald was pruning the bushes but stopped to greet us and show us our room. The room was small, but with a queen-size, comfortable bed. The bathroom had recently been redone and was sparkling new and well-outfitted. Breakfast was early, 7-8.30,... More

The Maclellan Inn was very clean, and the host Gerald was friendly and hospitable even when we arrived after 9pm. The Codroy valley is beautiful and the back of the property has a wonderful view. The homemade breakfast was delicious, and the inn is just 30 minutes from the ferry, which makes it a perfect stopover if you're on your... More

We stayed at the Maclellan Inn in the Codroy Valley for two nights in August and found it to be clean but minimal in many respects. Gerald is businesslike and a nice gentleman when you meet him but he didn't follow through on a commitment made. We phoned months before our arrival and booked the Daylilly Room because it has... Our ferry was four hours late getting to Port Aux Basques, and we did not arrive at the B&B until about 4 am. Gerald stayed up all night and made sure that the guests who arrived on the ferry were settled in. Our room was clean and comfortable and inexpensive. Breakfast was included and good. We stayed there on our... More

We stayed here two nights (a week apart) before and after getting off/on the ferry. It was well signed and easy to find, clean and a pretty good deal. Breakfast was pretty good. Gerald was accommodating and friendly, without being too chatty or intrusive. The first night there wasn't an opportunity to socailize, plus we were a little tired, although... More

We spent a long day on the ferry to Newfoundland and arrived at the Maclellan Inn. Gerald wasn't overly friendly and our room was very plain. It was clean but as far as B&B's go it was somewhat small and very plain. Breakfast the next morning was tasty. We would likely not stay again.

We stayed here for one night, right off the ferry. It was easy to find, late at night, good parking, easy to get into. We had a room right by the door. The bed was fine, room very clean, and so was the bathroom. The whole place is a little dated and cluttered, but whatever. Breakfast was fine. Nice sitting... More
