This is truly an historic relic...and if I were still in my 20's, I would think it was uber-cool. However, being in my 60's, not so much. The rooms that are listed as "hotel" rooms are private rooms, yes, but the bathroom facilities are waaaaaaaaaaay down the hall, and the entire place, as far as I could tell, should probably... More

The Madison Hotel will take you back in time with a 'boarding house' type feel, genuine Montana hospitality and gorgeous Western furnishings! The owners were incredibly helpful, the room clean and comfortable and the surroundings very nice!

Clean, quiet and friendly people make this place an awesome home base for discovering West Yellowstone. Convenient location gives easy access to the park. Jan & Garret are gracious hosts. The community living room helps make you feel right at home. Oh yeah and the pricing, just right!

We stayed because everything was full and it was late. Only hostel rooms were left. Shared bathroom, small room, thin walls and $100 for 2. $5.00 off for breakfast even though ad says meal ticket... Two things saved it: softer sheets I have slept in in a long time, even 4 star hotels and friendly staff.

Besides all the common and serviceable amenities or facilities of the most American hotels we appreciated mostly the warm, friendly and helpful hospitality of our host - the hotel owner and also of his staff. We were individually invited for a very delicious meal and received a lot of valuable advices concerning the NP, animals, entertainment (rodeo) and cooking. Very... More

If I could rate The Madison 10 stars I would. Our recent 3 night stay there was exceptional in every respect. It's on the National Register of Historic Places and is meticulously maintained. Garrett, the owner, takes great pride in his establishment and rightfully so. It has a well stocked gift shop and the prices are very reasonable. The minute... More

Stayed in a room with a double bed. Room was clean and exactly what we needed for the night. Close to the entrance of west Yellowstone. West Yellowstone is a great small town that has a lot of charm. The hotel itself has a gift shop of what you would expect with gifts etc. For me the best part was... More

Services at the hostel and what was provided bordered that of hotels. Rooms here are significantly cheaper than other rooms in the area and the staff is always ready to chat with you while still keeping your check-in highly efficient. Great TV, comfortable beds, fast computers, good wifi connection, convenient location, one of the most well-kept hostel facilities. Could add... More

I didn't know anything about this hotel before arriving. A friend had made the reservation. But I was pleasantly surprised with how cozy it was. The beds were very comfortable, everything was clean, and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this place!

My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Madison Hotel and would definitely recommend this cozy hotel or hostel. The room was comfortable and the shared bathroom was clean. Staff was very helpful and took their time to plan our schedule for the close Yellowstone Nationalpark. We really enjoyed the free coffee vending machine and microwave, as well as... More
