This is a gem of a spot, in a wildlife sanctuary outside tiny Heron MT. It's a circuitous drive through the countryside off Highway 200, and while at each turn you might wonder if you're headed into the never-never, the inn's recognizable blue signs are reassuring, and the sight of the stately building as you approach tells you the place... We only spent approximately 2 hours visiting but, enjoyed every minute! There were 13 in our group to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary. Although it was a rainy evening, the scenery we took in was beautiful. At one point, a gentleman asked us to quietly follow him to the back porch were we viewed two bear cubs playing in the... More

My husband worked in the area and stayed at the Amber Bear Inn for 10 days. Nancy and Mike did a great job taking care of his needs. I went over and stayed his last night. This place is comfortable and quiet. We would go back for pleasure.

My husband and I just recently stayed at the Amber Bear Inn. We had a wonderful time! Nancy and Mike are a great host and hostess team. Their aim is to please...and they do! The food was very good, the room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable and the scenery is gorgeous! This was our second personal vacation in... More

Thank you Amber Bear Inn for providing a lovely setting and a wonderful buffet dinner for a group of old friends who traveled many miles for the occasion. Our dinner was wonderful. Several of us said we could have made a meal on just the Pot Roast Soup on the cool, rainy evening. Your service was attentive without hovering and... More

We were super fortunate to find this place as we were looking to get away for a weekend before we had our first child. I came across the Amber Bear in online, called them and set up a reservation in advance, from the pictures I assumed it would be fairly nice but we were super impressed. The service was top... More

We were staying about 20 minutes away and came across the signs for the Amber Bear Inn so we checked it out and learned that they serve meals to people who are not staying there as well as their guests. It's off the beaten path, which we love, but is well marked with signs along the way. Not really too... More

They wanted an adventure and they sure got it this night! The cook kept running out to the front yard to see if the forest fire was coming over the top of Beaver Peak behind the Inn. The smoke was horrible and everything from the bears to the horse to the owners were stressed. To the west, the Scotchman Peak's... More

This is a bed and breakfast that will cook for you if you call and make reservations! They don't seem to have regular hours! 5 of us went last night and the food was excellent and reasonably priced! We definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Thanks for your kind words. These were restaurant guests (not lodging guests). We have a full commercial restaurant which can seat up to 60 people. We do a lot of banquets and retreats (as well as feed our lodging guests). For "restaurant only guests", we require a reservation, and can accommodate your request about 90% of the time.
