This hotel is more than 130 years and has been renovated and remodeled multiple times. The hotel maintains is charm, just remember that everything is OLD. Dinner in the restaurant was very good; a bit pricy and service was not fast. The "free breakfast" in the morning was very lame.

We chose the Grand Union as the place to celebrate our 36th anniversary and we were not disappointed. Our room on the top floor had a great view of the river and was quiet. There was a small sofa in the room making it comfortable to relax in without sitting on the bed. Dinner was very nice with attentive wait...

This lovely old grand dame of a hotel bears little resemblance to modern, box-like structures. Was my first hotel-stay on a multi-day cross-country adventure and definitely set a high bar. It was a pleasure to relax into an era of by-gone luxury. A sweeping walnut staircase led up to the second floor - the banister polished smooth by several generations...

This refurbished hotel played a significant role in the 1880's in Fort Benton on the Missouri River. Totally updated, it retains the grandeur of its early days from the vintage check-in desk, to the hardwood floors and up the beautiful staircase. We made a special trip to Fort Benton just to stay at the Grand Union.

Only got to stay one night, but what a treat. The Grand Union was nicely renovated (read - not overly done with too many antiques and lacy curtains) to capture the elegance of the hotel back in the day. Rooms and bed were comfortable and inviting (be sure and ask for a room with a view of the river. The...

I stayed here prior to a Missouri River canoe trip and loved it! The hotel is beautifully renovated and keeps the historical aspects well maintained. The restaurant is great, and the stay really gives you a feel for fort benton!

We love staying at this grand, historic hotel, but this time the complimentary "breakfast" was not good. Coffee was empty when we arrived, so I had to track down a lady in the lobby to ask if she worked there. Turns out, she was the person who "works" in the restaurant. Then, for the food--most plates were empty, except for...

This was my second time staying at the Grand Union, this time with my husband and daughter for two nights (first time I was on my own for one night). Once again, the hotel was beautiful and lovingly tended to, the dinners delicious and plentiful. But then came the "complimentary continental breakfast", which did nothing but damage the otherwise stellar...

Thank you for your comments concerning our complimentary breakfast. We do strive to have employees that take pride in taking care of our guests. We have taken measures to ensure that the breakfast table is restocked and tables are cleared. We certainly want your last impression of the Grand Union to be a positive one. We look forward to welcoming...

I wish I could give it more stars. I cannot think of a thing I would change from the time we walked in the door to when we checked out. The front desk lady was very friendly and quite knowledgeable of the history of the property. It is easy to see that she enjoyed her job. Our room was small...

Because I was alone and only staying one night, I booked a single, which was perfect. The bed was comfy and everything was lovely. I had dinner at the hotel and it was excellent; I had the Montana beet salad with goat cheese and vanilla orange crème brulee. The person who checked me in was very nice, informative and shared...
